[Bug 1960936] [NEW] Laptop stalls, kernel log flooded with "Allocating resources"

2022-02-15 Thread Fernando Laudares Camargos
Public bug reported:

Hi,
I have experiencing this for a while now (1 year+), with the laptop (Thinkpad
T430s) stalling at times, and often for a long period (hours). Even under very
low load. In fact, the issue seems to affect input devices (mouse and keyboard,
both external and built-in devices), as the screens continue to operate
normally and receiving notifications from applications, such as Slack.

The /var/log/kern.log gets flooded with messages like:

Would the problem be linked to a driver that controls a pci device? A
malfunctioning hardware part? Sometimes the issue is not noticed for
days.

I should also note the disc is encrypted and even if I restart the
computer, when Ubuntu starts loading and the prompt to enter the
password to access the disk, the issue is already manifesting itself: I
type the password and sometimes the key that is pressed is not sent,
sometimes it is send twice.

Any other information I can provide, please let me know. Thanks!

[Bug 980320] Re: Skype silently crashes on Ubuntu 64bits

2013-03-12 Thread Fernando Laudares Camargos
What worked for me (Lenovo T430s) with 12.10 (amd64) was use
libasound2-plugins:i386 instead of :amd64. Here's the link:
