[Bug 1623530] Re: Apport should be disabled by default

2016-09-14 Thread Fido
I agree that Apport popups are annoying and very user-unfriendly, but
IMHO disabling it altogether is not the right approach, it might be
better to show popups only when real user interaction is needed and
available (for instance, in our case we have a lot of Apport popups on
guest/public accounts that do not have enough privileges to actually
send any data).

That being said, as far as the wiki states Apport is disabled by default
in "stable" releases (I have a freshly installed Xenial LTS and still
get around a dozen Apport popups everytime I start my computer, so maybe
things changed since 2012...)

[Bug 1316885] [NEW] Unable to copy or paste from outside applications on 'webbrowser-app'

2014-05-06 Thread Fido
Public bug reported:

It's not possible to copy or paste from/to the new 'webbrowser-app',
this is particularly annoying since now 'webbrowser-app' is the default
renderer for 'webapps' (so it basically breaks the only thing that was
working on webapps).

How to test:

1) open gedit (or any other application)
2) write some text
3) select it and copy it (Ctrl+C, right clicking, etc)
4) open webrowser-app or any webapp
4) attempt to paste the copied text into any field in webbrowser-app

Expected result:
The text gets copied into a field in webbrowser-app

Result:
Nothing

[Bug 1242914] Re: tlmgr unable to set up TLPDB

2014-03-14 Thread Fido
I was actually able to workarround this bug, the problem seems to be an unmet
dependency with 'xzdec' after installing it everything started working. And in
order to use 'tlmgr --gui' there's another unmet dependency with 'perl-tk'.
Hope this helps

[Bug 1279811] Re: Clock keeps marked calendar day

2014-02-17 Thread Fido
This happens to me every time a day passes, for instance: if I turn my computer

As an example the attached screenshot is from today.

To reproduce (the short way...):
1) disable NTP
2) set the hour to 11:59PM
3) wait a minute

[Bug 878937] Re: Internal window decoration is not working correctly in Java apps

Might this error be related to Bug #762167?
I did a fresh install of ubuntu, and when running that app I got a lot of:

[Bug 762167] Re: missing dependency on gtk2-engines-pixbuf

2012-02-26 Thread Fido
I have the same issue since a while now, installing 'gtk2-engines-
pixbuf' does solve the problem of the error lines, but it doesn't fix
the theme problem.

For instance, when running a Java app, that uses JInternalFrames (sorry
if this is the only example I have but I see it every day), if 'gtk2
-engines-pixbuf' is not installed then the inner frames are drawn in the
old GTK way (which looks pretty awful when combined with the ambiance
theme https://launchpadlibrarian.net/94538299/newimage.png), but, if
'gtk2-engines-pixbuf' is installed it shows a badly drawn frame border
as you can see here
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/83306890/windowbug.png in Bug #878937

I'm not actually know if that is the old GTK way, but I do remember
having a similar theme some 7 years ago...

I' ve test it with:

brasero_3.2.0-0ubuntu1.1..
libbrasero-media3-1_3.2.0-0ubuntu1.1

and it didn't work, as a matter of fact now the buttons disapeared from
the dialog ('Properties', 'Cancel', 'Burn Several copies', 'Burn'), they
reappear only when the mouse pointer passes over the place where the
buttons are supposed to be.

And a as a secondary bug (I can't remember if it was always like this),
everytime you close the application in order to open it again you need
to kill brasero. (Perhaps this should be another bug)

This bug is also affecting the current precise pangoline alpha, seeing
as Rhythmbox is now the default player, this issue is a bit more
important.

[Bug 897510] [NEW] Mnemonics are incorrectly shown if a network's name contains an underscore

2011-11-28 Thread Fido
Public bug reported:

If you have a long list of networks (enough to make the 'More Networks' submenu
to appear).
If a network in the main list contains an underscore '_' in it's name then when
selecting a menu entry that is not a network all the undersocores in the netwok
list become Mnemonics, and all the mnemonics disappear.
In the screenshot is the left menu, is the correct one and the right one is
mnemonic-less...

[Bug 859364] [NEW] HP plugin fails to install

2011-09-25 Thread Fido
Public bug reported:

After the autointaller downloads the plugin it sais: Plug-in file does not
match its digital signature
Of course after this the plugin doesn't get installed and the printer doesn't
work.

The attached 'output' file is a copy of the console output of the error.

This is NOT a duplicate of #827196 #406570 #302627 or all other failed
plugin bugs, because in this case the error occurs prior to the actual
installation

[Bug 857005] Re: [mines]Too many flags warning shown after game end

2011-09-22 Thread Fido
If the tile has a number (still invisible) it will happen.
I think the jist of it is to set a condition like: if a bomb was found don't
draw any new 'too many flags' circles.

[Bug 841737] Re: Capitalize Every Word does not capitalize every first character of each word in Calc

2011-09-06 Thread Fido
I've just checked in LibreOffice's bug tracking system, and there's already a
bug report on this issue (#32786
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32786).
The funny thing is that is marked as fixed in version 3.3.0.RC because it was
fixed on OpenOffice (http://openoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=115128).

@Chris I believe that this classifies as a papercut, because new users,
specially those dual-booting with windows usually leave all those
folders in a separate (shared) partition, and they are more used to a
visual folder selection model.

[Bug 656628] Re: [Maverick] License text missing

2010-10-08 Thread Fido
Sorry for reporting then, but as far as I am aware and unless my english
is very bad (this might be true) according to the link that you posted
the GNU foundation explicitly tells developers to add the well known:

Considering that every other application has it you might understand why
it strikes as a little odd to use an entire text panel just to put 'GPL

all know you it is, but what is he doing there?).
