I am seeing this behavior in 4.2.x mainline kernels on Lenovo T440s.

I was having the same issue after I had to hard reset on system lockup
on 3.15.1 mainline.
cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log revealed the following.
Running hook /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/60_wpa_supplicant suspend suspend:
Failed to connect to non-global ctrl_ifname: (null) error: No such file or
looks like the issue I was having has nothing to do with the update.
