I tryed sudo -u gdm dbus-launch gconftool-2 --set /apps/gdm/simple-
greeter/settings-manager-plugins/sound/active --type bool false
but it didn't work for me.
sudo -u gdm dbus-launch gconftool-2 --set
/desktop/gnome/sound/event_sounds --type bool false
work well and it relatively clean.

It's not solved with Jaunty but it's solved whith the version 1.0.19 of ALSA. I
made the upgrade with this script

and after all the sound problem was solved.

I passed to Intrepid without succeeded to get the sound capture work.

I have tried The Intrepid Ibex 8.10 Alpha3. I didn't success to get work
the microphone on my gateway laptop Mx6930h. I attach the debugging
