partition and install Windows on it to perform the update.

After sleep mode, the Wi-Fi chip is not recognized by the kernel module
and therefore is not available. It is recognized after a reboot or after
hibernating though.
I have tried a lot of possibilities. Someone suggested the following command:
sudo nmcli nm sleep false

So I added hte init=/bin/sysetmd to the grub command line and I installed
the /var/log/journal. I could open a terminal on VT 9.
When I tried to journalctl -b root/journal.txt I had the message Read

Yes, this is still an issue. Touching the screen has the same effect as
a mouse right click (displays contextual menus and so on).

I wanted to copy a music CD with Brasero and it started to search for missing
packages (toc2cue and cdda2wav) but could not find them. Then it suggested that
I install them manually. But these do not exist in Synaptic.
Brasero was running ok in Karmic. I tried on a upgraded Lucid and a freshly

I have a D-Link WBR-2310 Wi-Fi router. My laptop is a Acer Aspire 5050
with the Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter.
I was unable to connect to it since I upgraded to Lucid. I tried
network-manager and wicd, I even did a fresh install... with no success.
Until I tweaked my router

Everything was fine on Karmic until I upgraded to Lucid.
Curiously, there is no problem with my Acer Aspire One (also running on Lucid),
