[Bug 231869] Re: No valid JVM found to run JOSM.

2009-05-30 Thread Guido Scholz
Hi all,
the /usr/bin/josm wrapper ignores (or does not recognize) openjdk as a valid
jvm even when it is installed. I had to change the JAVA_CMDS variable in the
wrapper to look like this, to get it working:

JAVA_CMDS=$JAVA_HOME/bin/java /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java /usr/bin/jamvm /usr/bin/gij-4.1
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/jre/bin/java

A further bug is that there is no menu entry for JOSM. I had to add a
josm.desktop file with this contents to the /usr/share/applications
directory:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=JOSM
Comment=Editor for OpenStreetMap
Exec=josm
Icon=josm-32
Terminal=false
Type=Application

[Bug 271656] [NEW] Support for QWERTZ keyboard layout missing

2008-09-18 Thread Guido Scholz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: zynaddsubfx

The package zynaddsubfx in his current state (eg. in hardy) does not
support the QWERTZ keyboard layout for the buildin virtual keyboard.
This is very irritating especially for German users.

As there is no further development of this program since 2005 there are
some bugs, which can be fixed using patches filed on the project website
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/zynaddsubfx).

Also for this bug there is a patch available at the tracker which works
fine, as I tested:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=1790602group_id=62934atid=502314

This fix is easy to apply and would be very wellcome.

[Bug 154231] Re: G550 (dual) DVI does not work

2008-08-06 Thread Guido Scholz
Hi all,
this bug is still valid for Hardy. I have a slightly different setup with a
normal G550 providing one VGA and one DVI connector. Here are two LCD displays
attached (both NEC 1880SX with 1280x1024) used with a Xinerama layout.

What I found updating from 6.06 to 8.04 is the second head (DVI
connector) is not switched on when X ist starting (as in Dapper).

I also found the second head can be switched on in two ways, starting from a
gdm login screen:
a) Changing to a console (e.g. Alt-F1) and changing back to the gdm login
screen.
b) Loging in via gdm and loging out again.

This situation is not very attractive and should not continue for the
next two years. It is a pitty that there is only a fix available for the
1.9.100 release which is not compatible to the Hardy xserver, as I
found.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dosemu

Typing the left key, the right key shows up in the xdosemu window
(similar for upper case):

r = t
i = .
, = x
§ = bell

All other keys are fine. My hardware keyboard layout is german (IBM
