This fix also went into kernel 2.6.36-rc6.
I have a L505D-S5983. After installing the 2.6.38-rc6 kernel and
activate the acpi=copy_dsdt switch, my lappie can boot lucid without
problem. Fn keys work fine, but neither hibernate nor sleep is working.

But by letting the Win-PCs accessing OO files through Samba - then the same
corrupted file problem stays?

Of course win + OO + Samba - won't cause file corruption right? Got to test it.

What should I tell my boss? Choose one of these options:
1. Migrate all these PCs to Jaunty -- (again? how stable this jaunty this
time? Are you sure about what are you doing?)
or
2. disconnect the 8 PCs running on XP because we must use NFS?
