At first i did not know that the problem was caused by the ppa. However
i think that the MESA drivers should always be upgraded to the latest
stable version. Ubuntu should handle the MESA packages like firefox.
Ubuntu is the only officialy supported linuxdistribution supported by
Steam for gaming

occurs after adding the kisak mesa fresh ppa and upgrading to the latest
stable MESA release. It only happens when Wayland is used. I always use
this otherwise great ppa to keep my MESA drivers up to date. Sadly the

It seems to be a secure boot / UEFI issue. Retrying with the same
bootentry and a minimal install also failed. I briefly saw something
about grub not being able to write somewhere in the install console.

This bug exists for 1+1/2 years and finally made it into the LTS version 14.04
(Trusty).
I'm wondering why this bug was allowed to break such basic and essential
functionality like formatting a USB stick in an Ubuntu LTS version.
If it couldn't get fixed, the tool should have been replaced by
Software RAID. I had no success with #28 + update-grub. Same old error message
persists.
(Haven't and won't try other things, because I'm afraid to break my system.)

When opening a pdf file which is attached to a mail with evolution the

The proposed workaround with gnome-tweak-tool doesn't work for me.
I can change the behaviour of Caps Lock in some ways, but not in others.
Swiching Caps Lock with ESC works, but disabling it doesn't!
(I use Unity with German localization. Could that affect the behaviour?)

I can confirm the bug with Ubuntu 13.10 on a Dell Inspiron 3721.
It had Windows 8 pre-Installed, to which I had added Ubuntu 13.04 on a
second partition. I had disabled UEFI and secure boot, because I hadn't
