I can confirm now that this isn't only an issue of the wireless card.
USB type C doesn't work as well, unless I enter the BIOS on boot. I
will document the error messages I get and return with more data on USB
type C as well

Save, etc. dialogs that open the file system

Actually it's not just inserting image that crashes the program.
Anything that opens the file system does that. I can't use the open,
save as functions because it crashes

I have a similar problem with Intel drivers on Dell Inspiron N5110. At startup,
I get the error that you can see in the attached file. After the system is
loaded, manually doing sudo service lightdm start works and X runs normally.
I am not sure if my problem is compatible with the posted bug,
I have the same problem, after upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10. When Skype
receives a call, the white noise starts; Only solution I found was to
restart Skype
