[Bug 1807056] Re: Occasional Keyboard freeze
I have the same issue. My keyboard freeze very frequently. However, my mouse keeps working. To find out the problem I have changed the OS from Linux Mint to Zorin. The problem did not go away (both ubuntu based). Also I called a technician. He said there were issues with one of my HDD, I sent it to the warranty. I found that keyboard can also freeze due to high temperature of CPU. Though my CPU temperature almost never exceeds 50 degree, we cleaned the fan and others (Because of these, I could not use my machine for few days. this is why the delay to respond your query). I ran `sudo apt remove ibus`. The issue is still there. However, `killall -3 gnome-shell` helps. Anyways, I got `journalctl --since "10min ago" -f` output during freeze (somehow the command was initiated during freeze). The output is given bellow. It is a ~3000 line log saved in https://pastebin.com/taawktGa Please help me find a solution for this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1807056 Title: Occasional Keyboard freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1807056/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So i tested all these kernel from the mainline: v4.7-rc2-yakkety/ 2016-06-05 23:31 v4.4.13-xenial/ 2016-06-08 04:45 v4.4.12-xenial/ 2016-06-01 22:00 v4.4.11-xenial/ 2016-05-19 03:45 v4.4.10-xenial/ 2016-05-11 11:30 v4.4.9-xenial/ 2016-05-04 23:30 v4.4.8-wily/2016-04-20 08:30 v4.4.7-wily/2016-04-12 18:30 v4.4.6-wily/2016-03-16 17:53 v4.4.5-wily/2016-03-10 01:30 v4.4.4-wily/2016-03-04 01:45 v4.4.3-wily/2016-02-25 22:30 v4.4.2-wily/2016-02-17 22:15 v4.4.1-wily/2016-01-31 21:45 v4.4-wily/ 2016-01-11 01:31 v4.3-wily/ 2015-11-02 15:45 and the suspend worked with all of them. It seems that the problem is present only for the kernel in the main repository. Just tried using Kernel 4.1.0-040100 and then attempted to install both fglrx and fglrx-updates. [Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2
Confirmed not working on Ubuntu 15.10 64bit with my AMD R9 390 on kernel 4.2.0-16. Both fglrx and fglrx-updates will return a black screen of death upon reboot after installation. The only way to revive the system is to do a fresh install. This will cause many people to break their systems when they choose to upgrade their systems to 15.10 with an AMD card and attempt to install Catalyst. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 ubuntu ** Description changed: 1) Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) gnome-terminal: Installed: 3.0.1-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 3.0.1-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 3.0.1-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) When I choose a terminal background image, I expect to have the background image shown without transparency. 4) Transparency is applied to the chosen background image. No way to make the background opaque. When the shade is set to none, the terminal becomes completely transparent. When set to maximum, the background becomes black. I expect this behavior on transparent mode but not when a background image is chosen.
