[Bug 1807056] Re: Occasional Keyboard freeze

2022-05-30 Thread Ahmmad Ismail
I have the same issue. My keyboard freeze very frequently. However, my
mouse keeps working.

To find out the problem I have changed the OS from Linux Mint to Zorin.
The problem did not go away (both ubuntu based).

Also I called a technician. He said there were issues with one of my
HDD, I sent it to the warranty. I found that keyboard can also freeze
due to high temperature of CPU. Though my CPU temperature almost never
exceeds 50 degree, we cleaned the fan and others (Because of these, I
could not use my machine for few days. this is why the delay to respond
your query).

I ran `sudo apt remove ibus`. The issue is still there. However,
`killall -3 gnome-shell` helps.

Anyways, I got `journalctl --since "10min ago" -f` output during freeze
(somehow the command was initiated during freeze). The output is given
bellow.

It is a ~3000 line log saved in https://pastebin.com/taawktGa

Please help me find a solution for this problem.

[Bug 1853665] Re: Realtek RTL8821CE [10ec:c821] Subsystem [103c:831a] Bluetooth not probed

2021-10-26 Thread A. H. Ismail
The issue still persists with kernel 5.13 and the impish driver
Why doesn't the maintainers of this driver use some of the code of tomaspinho
driver? I read on Linux Mint forum that some people got bluetooth working with
that driver.

[Bug 1861610] Re: 'Elan touchpad' not detected on 'Lenovo ThinkBook 15 IIL'

2020-09-16 Thread Ismail Yushaw
Hello nikita-tomilov... your solution worked and the trackpad is
working, but the issue i realised was that there was no kernel header
associated with the kernel and as as result VirtualBox cannot run VMs. I
was asking if anyone can help me with the guide to generate a kernel
header for the installed kernel.

python3 modules separately? How is this possible? How can I install

[Bug 1748501] [NEW] Backport request for Xenial 16.04 LTS

2018-02-09 Thread İsmail SEZEN
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I and probably a lot of users prefer Ubuntu LTS versions on production
machines. ecCodes is also one of the important packages that scientific
community use. So, please, could you back port this package to Xenial
16.04?

I could manage install from source but I (and probably most of the
users) prefer to install from Ubuntu repository in terms of easy
installation. I thought it won't be a big deal for you to back port.

PS: I saw Zak's PPA but it's an older release and also he says that it's
a testing repo and he warns that it might not work. I also asked this in
the 'answers section' and I was asked open a bug report.

Regards,

isezen

@cascagrossa I completely agree with you. That's why i opened this bug
with a general title "The system does not suspend on Ubuntu 16.04" and
that's why i invited you(and the others) to subscribe to this bug
because the other bugs had the PC model on the title. Christopher M.
Penalver invited you to open another bug and changed the title. I think
that this is a bug related to the OS itself rather than a hardware
related one. There are a huge machine configurations that have THIS same
bug.

[Bug 1589139] Re: The system does not suspend.

2016-06-09 Thread Ismail Gjevori
So i tested all these kernel from the mainline:

v4.7-rc2-yakkety/ 2016-06-05 23:31
v4.4.13-xenial/ 2016-06-08 04:45
v4.4.12-xenial/ 2016-06-01 22:00
v4.4.11-xenial/ 2016-05-19 03:45
v4.4.10-xenial/ 2016-05-11 11:30
v4.4.9-xenial/ 2016-05-04 23:30
v4.4.8-wily/2016-04-20 08:30
v4.4.7-wily/2016-04-12 18:30
v4.4.6-wily/2016-03-16 17:53
v4.4.5-wily/2016-03-10 01:30
v4.4.4-wily/2016-03-04 01:45
v4.4.3-wily/2016-02-25 22:30
v4.4.2-wily/2016-02-17 22:15
v4.4.1-wily/2016-01-31 21:45
v4.4-wily/ 2016-01-11 01:31
v4.3-wily/ 2015-11-02 15:45

and the suspend worked with all of them. It seems that the problem is present
only for the kernel in the main repository.
There are a lot of versions between v4.4-wily and v4.3-wily and before
v4.3-wily so testing all of these kernels i think is pointless. Hope that there
is a way to log something(when the suspend doesn't work).

[Bug 1589139] Re: The system does not suspend.

2016-06-08 Thread Ismail Gjevori
So i tested the the latest kernel and the suspend is working also 5 times in a
row or after i logged out and in. The kernel i used is:
   Linux ubuntu 4.7.0-040700rc2-generic #201606051831 SMP Sun Jun 5 22:33:44
UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I've tested also kernel 4.4.11 and 4.4.12 (both xenial build) and they work
also. The only thing not working is when i close the lid it doesn't suspend. So
i can suspend only from the menu.

[Bug 1566302] Re: Ubuntu 16.04: Suspend freezes the system after upgrade to linux image 4.4.0-16

2016-06-04 Thread Ismail Gjevori
@Christopher why this bug status first is changed to "Invalid" and then
to "Won't fix"? This bug is confirmed from a lot of people and the
original report says that the Ubuntu repository kernel has the bug (not
the mainline/upstream).

I have both python2.7 as well as python3.4 installed on my system where
duplicity is installed.
Any idea what's wrong with it? Am I missing any dependency or is there some bug?

Thank you

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2

2015-10-15 Thread Yusuf Ismail Bin Shukor
Just tried using Kernel 4.1.0-040100 and then attempted to install both
fglrx and fglrx-updates. Both installed, and upon reboot there is a
working desktop, but it's not the Catalyst driver that's running.

It's defaulting back to stock Mesa 11.0.2, even though Additional
Drivers states that the fglrx driver is in use.

I do not know if this would be useful, but this is my dmesg file currently:

[Bug 1493888] Re: FGLRX incompatible with kernel 4.2

2015-10-15 Thread Yusuf Ismail Bin Shukor
Confirmed not working on Ubuntu 15.10 64bit with my AMD R9 390 on kernel
4.2.0-16.

Both fglrx and fglrx-updates will return a black screen of death upon
reboot after installation. The only way to revive the system is to do a
fresh install.

This will cause many people to break their systems when they choose to
upgrade their systems to 15.10 with an AMD card and attempt to install
Catalyst.

I'm going to try the Kernel 4.1 workaround now, see if it works or not.

Filing this against the 340-updates version but possibly the same
applies to older versions, too. The nvidia source package produces two
   individual dkms packages: nvidia-340-updates, nvidia-340-updates-uvm.
The problem is that the DKMS build of the nvidia-uvm module runs
compile steps inside the nvidia modules build directory. This is
violating the DKMS assumption that each module can be build
independently (there is no way of describing cross-modules

kernel is installed will run the modules build in parallel).

Since nvidia and nvidia-uvm are very dependent on each other the right
course of action seems to be to combine both sources in one DKMS
module that produces two kernel modules (this is supported by DKMS).
For the transition this resulting dkms package needs to have a
   breaks/replaces for the nvidia-uvm package.

[Bug 1418217] [NEW] printing a scaled page not in the center

2015-02-04 Thread Ismail Gjevori
Public bug reported:

When i want to print a zoomed page i choose for example 150% scaling.
Then i choose also the option to center the page, but i get a part of
the zoomed page starting from the upper-left corner. What i expect is
the center of the zoomed page. Maybe the option to center the page is
not working properly.

You are right, but a big part of the folk uses LTSs and I think LTSs
deserve most working on bug fixes. It is clear that the community is
substantial for fixing bugs. So I think programmers should enable bug
reports and help to maintain LTSs but of course non-programmers will be
bored and not want from the apports.

I do not rely on short term releases, I mainly stick with LTS versions.
So, I guess it is a matter of preference.

[Bug 1188880] [NEW] Kernel doesn't load properly

2013-06-07 Thread Ismail Gjevori
Public bug reported:

Updating the kernel to version 3.8.0.22 or to version 3.8.0.23 the
resolution is the wrong one and can't be changed, the mouse doesn't work
and the wireless driver either. On 3.8.0.21 everything works great. When
i updated the kernel the system didn't ask for a restart. If you want me
to do any test you're welcome.

[Bug 945216] Re: transparency is applied to terminal background image

2012-03-07 Thread Fairuz WAN ISMAIL
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected compiz-0.9 ubuntu

** Description changed:

  1)
  Description: Ubuntu 11.10
  Release: 11.10

  2)
  gnome-terminal:
Installed: 3.0.1-0ubuntu3
Candidate: 3.0.1-0ubuntu3
Version table:
   *** 3.0.1-0ubuntu3 0
  500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages
  100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  3)
When I choose a terminal background image, I expect to have the background
image shown without transparency.

  4)
Transparency is applied to the chosen background image. No way to make the
background opaque. When the shade is set to none, the terminal becomes
completely transparent. When set to maximum, the background becomes black. I
expect this behavior on transparent mode but not when a background image is
chosen.
