[Bug 1132156] Re: Realktek r8169 driver unrelaible with r8101/02
I found solution for this issue, at least for my case: one has to set correct MAC-address before bringing up the interface. On my board RTL8102E works without EEPROM, so MAC value is unpredictable. In many cases this random value has multicast bit set to 1. This fact breaks driver and (or) TCP stack operation: * r8169 reports that link is down * r8101 reports that link is OK, but Linux TCP stack ignores packets with multicast destination MAC Overall behavior of r8169 seems to be better than r8101's: second one sometimes stops to transceive packets (once per several hours of continuous TCP traffic, average load ~30Mbps down). In same conditions r8169 works without issues (or at least I think so? (c)). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132156 Title: Realktek r8169 driver unrelaible with r8101/02 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1132156/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 610869] Re: mountall ignores nofail mount option
@Steve Langasek Looks like you misunderstood us. The 'nofail' option is documented as: do not report errors for this device if it does not exist. The problem you're describing is not one of reporting errors, but a lack of timeout while waiting for a device to become available on boot. 'nofail' is not a correct option to use for this. When 'external sas device is down' or 'drive is not always connected' the device does not exist (and most probably would not become available in close future) and we want to suppress any errors related to this fact. In this case 'nofail' option seems to fit perfectly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/610869 Title: mountall ignores nofail mount option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/610869/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 933440] Re: AppArmor profile (in enforce mode) breaks skype
@Jamie Strandboge I tried to use proposed1. It's almost fine, but: 1. one has to add ssl_certs abstraction 2. looks like skype _requires_ owner /dev/shm/pulse-shm* m, and /dev/snd/* m, to play audio. 3. skype sometimes tries to access .mozilla, but I think it's up to end-user to allow or deny this. 4. probably one needs to add something like owner @{PROC}/[0-9]*/fd/ r, Concerning 'mmap a file executable': do you think that it is dangerous? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/933440 Title: AppArmor profile (in enforce mode) breaks skype To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor-profiles/+bug/933440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm sorry, but new Ubuntu release breaks my favorite instruments like gnome2 and aptitude, so I don't plan to upgrade in the near future. And I have nVidia GPU only inside work PC. Probably I'll find some time for a LiveCD test.
