[Bug 1016147] Re: ALPS Touchpad' incorrectly detected as PS/2 mouse in 'Acer Aspire V3-771G'

It solved my issue on Acer Aspire v3 771.

[Bug 441941] Re: grub fails after running Windows

2009-11-09 Thread Ivo Mans
On my HP dc5800 microtower I got same problem.
Continuing on JohnL messages: Just downgrading grub also resulted in some
'hybrid' for me. Cleaning up a bit more brought me to the 'oldfashioned' grub.
So far (a few reboots) no problem anymore. What I did:

sudo apt-get purge grub-pc
sudo rm /boot/grub/*
sudo apt-get install grub
sudo update-grub
sudo grub-install /dev/sda (replace sda with your boot device!)

Add a section in /boot/grub/menu.lst:
title Windows XP
root(hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

[Bug 263963] Re: wpa intrepid fails to autenticate

Stopping avahi-daemon doesn't solve the issue for me.

Connecting to a FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 (mode 'WPA+WPA2') keeps asking

[Bug 102242] URL not found when enabling userewrite

2007-04-03 Thread Ivo Mans
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dokuwiki

After installing the package going to the configuration page inside dokuwiki I
set the 'userewrite' setting. This results in a system that only displays 404
Not Found / URL /usr/share/dokuwiki/doku.php was not found.
So user is not able to do anything through the webinterface anymore.

My workaround after experiencing this:
Manually edit /usr/share/dokuwiki/.htaccess to get this functionality working.
Not only uncommenting the RewirteRule lines but also modifying the last 2
RewriteRule lines into
  RewriteRule (.*) /dokuwiki/doku.php?id=$1 [QSA,L]
  RewriteRule ^index.php$ /dokuwiki/doku.php

A simple change in configuration settings on a webpage shouldn't block
the complete dokuwiki site. At least show some warning before applying
this change.

[Bug 35953] Re: jabber segfaults on client disconnect

2006-08-18 Thread Ivo Mans
Attached my backtrace result when the last user logs out.
It's my first backtrace experience, let me know if you need anything else.

[Bug 35953] Re: jabber segfaults on client disconnect

2006-08-13 Thread Ivo Mans
Actually this Debian bug 337526 describes a crash when registering a new
user, the issue described here is a crash when the last user logs out.
Although both issues seem related to the compiler used, they are not
exactly same.

Also I experienced these crashes after last user logs out since I
upgraded to dapper. Downgrade to 1.4.3-3 solved the issue.

[Bug 52365] Re: Amarok xine backend can't play FLAC files (1.4.1).

2006-08-09 Thread Ivo Mans
In reply to Lukáš Obořil:
well, is anybody who able build this for i386 ???Backport for Dapper is
needed.

Backport would probably be the best solution.

For now I just made a patch to the current Dapper version. It appears to
work for several others as well: see
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=125

[Bug 53127] Re: /etc/jabber/functions missing from package

2006-07-18 Thread Ivo Mans
Forget about this bug. I just notice functions is actually in jabber-common.
My system must have been messed up somehow.
(Can I delete this bug somehow?)

[Bug 53127] /etc/jabber/functions missing from package

2006-07-16 Thread Ivo Mans
Public bug reported:

When trying to do a clean install of jabber 1.4.3-3ubuntu1 the installation
stops with error
/etc/init.d/jabber: line 23: /etc/jabber/functions: No such file or directory

/etc/init.d/jabber calls unconditionally to the functions file, while
the functions file is not in the package.
