[Bug 1396379] Re: installer uses first EFI system partition found even when directed otherwise
It is a nightmare when Windows and Linux share one EFI Partition. Therefore I always use separate EFI partitions for Linux and Windows. For this to work the installer needs to let me set a) the boot device if more than one disk is installed b) must not force select the first EFI partition on the boot drive. I need to be able to configure /boot/efi to any exfat partition with boot, system flags on the boot drive. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1396379 Title: installer uses first EFI system partition found even when directed otherwise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-efi-amd64-signed/+bug/1396379/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1930110] Re: Wake-up after suspend only on second keypress
When I last put the computer into suspend, I used the menu point entry 'Suspend' in the top right menu (I use gnome-flashback). In this case, wake up by keypress worked correctly, so probably you found the root of the problem with the fn+f1-key. I then produced the logs you asked for: 'dmesg > dmesg-before.log' and 'lsmod > lsmod.log' Finally I ran showkey, the output is below. But pressing fn+f1 while in showkey immediately led to a suspend, from which two keypresses were necessary to get to normal operation. Afterwards the following was the content of the terminal: juergen@regulus:~$ sudo showkey kb mode was ?UNKNOWN? [ if you are trying this under X, it might not work since the X server is also reading /dev/console ] press any key (program terminates 10s after last keypress)... keycode 28 release keycode 142 press keycode 142 release I then made a 'dmesg > dmesg-after.log' to enable comparison of normal awake (dmesg-before.log) and awake with two keypresses (dmesg- after.log). ** Attachment added: "dmesg-after.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1930110/+attachment/5501925/+files/dmesg-after.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930110 Title: Wake-up after suspend only on second keypress To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1930110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1930110] [NEW] Wake-up after suspend only on second keypress
Public bug reported: My computer is a HP Z240 tower workstation, Ubuntu version: Description:Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS Release:18.04 I can and do suspend my computer by pressing Fn-Key + F1-key on the HP keyboard. The F1 key is marked with a crescent moon to indicate this functionality. The suspend state is indicated by a blinking led on the computer case. >From 16.04 I was used, that in suspend state any keypress on the keyboard would wake up the computer again immediately: The screen would (if turned on) display what was last visible when suspend was executed through the abovementioned function key. The led on the computer case would light steadily. Now a keypress on the suspended computer leads to a short activation of the harddisk, the led on the computer case will light steadily but the monitor (also if on) remains dark. After about 2-5 seconds the harddisk stands still again, the computer becomes silent and the led on the computer case is blinking again, as in suspend mode. I presume the computer is now again in suspend mode. When this state is reached, a second keypress leads to a correct awake from suspend, the harddisk spins, the led on the case lights steadily and the monitor displays what is expected. The computer can then be used as expected. Note: I have 64 GByte of RAM and only 32GB Swap partition, so I presume (and hope) that hibernation (RAM to Disk) plays no role here, only suspend and wake-up from suspend. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930110 Title: Wake-up after suspend only on second keypress To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1930110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1569724] Re: noatime option
Hello Michael, I Subscribed you to this issue because you are the maintainer of the package as stated here: https://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/core/groovy/universe/base/apt- btrfs-snapshot as @darkdragon-001 stated he created a PR for this that does not rely on atime but on the filestamp in the snapshot name. Unfortunately he filed his PR against an inofficial fork. I did not find the original repository that is the source for the Ubuntu package. Can you help out here. Where do we need to sent the PR or patch to? I'm hit by this bug too and I'd help to resolve this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1569724 Title: noatime option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-btrfs-snapshot/+bug/1569724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1888936] [NEW] cifsd deadlocks / CIFS related Oopses
Public bug reported: We're running a server at AWS which collects data from machines over CIFS. This involves a a lot of mounting and umounting of CIFS (about 100 targets with 2 shares each with 10 delay in between). The targets might sometimes become unavailable when they turned of for the weekend or rebooted. The server doing this has to be rebooted every few hours because CIFS connection start to hang and don't recover. [Bug 1776078] [NEW] Wrong display of calendar entries with different timezone for start and stop date
Public bug reported: Timezone of stop date is ignored for ics files and caldac calendars. The attached example has a during of 7 hours. It gets imported correctly with evolution. However, it looks like an event with a duration of one hour in the calendar. Thunderbird displays the event correctly (as my iPhone). Import creates error message if stop time in local timezone is 'before' start time in specified timezone (see second example). Event is not displayed in the regular calender view but can be seen in the list view. When I open the entry, I can only choose a timezone for the entire event, i.e., not for start and stop date separately. Expected behavior: - correct display of length of event in the calendar view - separate entry fields for timezones for start and stop date (cf. Thunderbird - Lightning) Example 1: BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Mozilla.org/NONSGML Mozilla Calendar V1.1//EN VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT CREATED:20180610T131500Z LAST-MODIFIED:20180610T131418Z DTSTAMP:20180610T131418Z UID:20180610_JK_Test1 SUMMARY:New Test Appointment DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20180610T13 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20180610T14 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR Example 2: BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Mozilla.org/NONSGML Mozilla Calendar V1.1//EN VERSION:2.0 BEGIN:VEVENT CREATED:20180610T131500Z LAST-MODIFIED:20180610T131418Z DTSTAMP:20180610T131418Z UID:20180610_JK_Test2 SUMMARY:Short Test Appointment DTSTART;TZID=Europe/Berlin:20180610T13 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20180610T11 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: evolution 3.28.1-2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-22.24-generic 4.15.17 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: wl ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.2 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sun Jun 10 15:41:39 2018 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-05 (65 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Alpha amd64 (20180403) SourcePackage: evolution UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic ** Attachment added: "Test Appointment.ics" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776078/+attachment/5150903/+files/Test%20Appointment.ics -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1776078 Title: Wrong display of calendar entries with different timezone for start and stop date To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1776078/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Hadmut, On Thu, 24. May 2018 at 15:15:01 -, Hadmut Danisch wrote: > I'm not sure whether this is a problem of that particular plugin or a general > standard for qgis, to still use PyQt4. PyQt4 is not the problem - without it QGIS 2.x wouldn't run at all. But QtWebKit is not available for PyQt4 anymore in Debian/Ubuntu. IIRC because the webkit C++ libraries were about to be removed and PyQt4.QtWebKit was removed upfront. QGIS itself doesn't use it, but a bunch of plugins do - openlayers being one of them. So this is not an actual qgis packaging problem, nor an upstream problem, nor a problem of the plugin. The removal of the C++ libraries never happened and the QGIS packages from qgis.org include the PyQt4.QtWebKit bindings based on the still available libraries. Jürgen -- Jürgen E. [Bug 1723080] Re: Caldav Issues with evolution 3.26
Hi Kirk, I found a solution. The issue seems to be an outdated version of caldav used for Synology's webdav server. Here is what I did - Expert calendar and tasks list (separately) to ics files - Deactivate caldav in the webdav server - Installed the new calendar application in my Diskstation (https://www.synology.com/en-global/dsm/feature/calendar) - Create a new calendar (not that you cannot delete the default calendar 'my calendar', which can be anoying) - Imported the calendar via web interface - Created new calendar and task list in evolution - Used evolution to import task list Somewhat cumbersome but it worked. Two positive side effects: - It was easy to implement separate calendars for 'home' and 'work' - The new calendar better integrates with my iPhone. I can now invite others to appointments from my iPhone. This option was not available with the previous solution. Hope this helps. [Bug 1723080] Re: Caldav Issues with evolution 3.26
I have a suspicion that I cannot verify, though. It might be that the new version of evolution is not backward compatible with older caldav specifications. [Bug 1723080] [NEW] Caldav Issues with evolution 3.26
Public bug reported: I noticed a series of issues with caldav when switching to Ubuntu 17.10. Everthing works fine with Ubuntu GNOME 17.04. Error message during ics import: "Cannot receive calendar objects: Failed to put data: HTTP error code 201 (Created): The server responded with an HTML page, which can mean there’s an error on the server or with the client request." The import successfully finished regardless. It's still a nuisance. Attempts to pick a date (calendar entry and tasks) are followed by the message: "Evolution want to inhibit shortcuts. You can restore shortcuts by pressing Shift-Ctrl-Escape" Creating new tasks: Same error message as for ics import. Tasks are only stored when date *and* time are specified. Error message needs to be ignored and window to be close with 'discard changes'. If you rename that to "myisam-recover-option", then you should be able to restart the mysql service. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573591 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.11-0ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess installiertes post-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1573591/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1567933] [NEW] Characters corrupted during install on HPZ240
Public bug reported: When installing Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Desktop from an install DVD isoimage on my machine ubuntu-14.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso HP Workstation Z240 Tower CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1245v5 4C (3.50GHz, 8MB Cache, 2133 MHz FSB) RAM: 32GB DDR4-2133 ECC (2x 16GB) HDD1: 1TB SATA III, 7.200 U/min HDD2: 1TB SATA III, 7.200 U/min Graphic: NVIDIA Quadro K2200 4GB, PCIe Optical Drive: DVD+-RW Slim SuperMulti, SATA LAN: 10/100/1000 MBit onBoard I encountered during installation problems with screen display of characters. Many characters appeared in the wrong color (white on grey instead of black on grey or other similar color changes) and so became nearly unreadable. Nevertheless I completed the installation mostly by guessing the unreadable parts (but could not use custom partitioning because it was too risky to enter the necessary data without being able to read the displayed texts). The installed version showed similar color corruptions in all places where text was displayed. After installing the HP driver CD (hp_drivercd_ubuntu14_sp74252.iso) from the HP Homepage, the problem disappeared. Nevertheless I think the bug should be fixed, as it's a bit risky to go through the installation half blind.
