This didn't seem to be a problem with the driver that came with Ubuntu
15.04, but now that I have upgraded to 16.04, this is definitely a

Evince no longer seems to be affected. Firefox and Thunderbird still

It seems that thunderbird and firefox seem to have a single pixmap icon
file, rather than a series of images of different sizes that are placed
in /usr/share/icons.
Is this a hint as to the nature of the issue?

I have also tried installing 15.04 64 bit again, and this problem
persists. The icons were fine for the first little while, and then they
became blurry. I don't know for sure, but I want to say it's after a
software update was run.

The mouse pointer does not move when I have two fingers on the touchpad.
I am using a mac-like touchpad, produced by dell. The model is the
Dell Inspiron 15 7000.
The way I usually use my touchpad is that I use my middle finger on my
