Re: [Bug 1734500] Re: Ubuntu Web Browser content upside down on rotated screen

2022-01-21 Thread James Waldby
Please feel free to let the bug expire unsolved. While I still use two
monitors arranged as described in the bug report, I don't have software
available to test whether the bug still exists.

On my Ubuntu 20.04systemI don't have an Amazon icon on a launcher
screen, and "webbrowser-app" is not installed.  An attempt to install it
perhowtoinstall.co/en/webbrowser-app directionsgives "E: Unable to
locate package webbrowser-app".

[Bug 1734500] Re: Ubuntu Web Browser content upside down on rotated screen

2017-11-29 Thread James Waldby
Anyone with a dual monitor setup (regardless of whether either monitor
is physically rotated) should be able to test if they observe this
problem after setting one monitor rotate-setting to Clockwise. I don't
know whether it can be observed on a single-monitor system.

[Bug 1659922] Re: Firefox 51.0.1 does not display pages/shows blank pages.

Is there a bug # for this problem as observed in Firefox Quantum 57.0
(64-bit) ?

[Bug 1734500] [NEW] Ubuntu Web Browser content upside down on rotated screen

2017-11-25 Thread James Waldby
Public bug reported:

I use two monitors, a Plain Tree 22" on the left and a Goldstar 29" on
the right. The Plain Tree is physically rotated 90 degrees
counterclockwise and the Goldstar is not rotated.

In Settings - Displays, the Goldstar 29" has Rotation set to Normal, and
content displays ok in normal right side up fashion.

In Settings - Displays, the Plain Tree has Rotation set to Clockwise
because that causes most content to display ok and right side up.

For example, Firefox Web Browser windows display their content right
side up on both monitors.

However, while window title bar text is upright for Ubuntu Web Browser
windows on the Plain Tree, the window content is upside down. When I
drag that window to the Goldstar the content flips over and displays
correctly.

I don't know the version number of webbrowser-app, or if it's relevant.
Clicking on the Amazon icon on the launcher brought up an Amazon page in a
frame labeled Ubuntu Web Browser which according to
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WebBrowsers is webbrowser-app . Anyhow,
webbrowser-app directory info is:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 710984 Dec 20 2016 /usr/bin/webbrowser-app

Summary: On this system, Ubuntu Web Browser page rotation is 180 degrees
different from page rotation in other programs.
