In the meantime: my charger died a week after, i got a new one and the
problem disappeared. So it wasn't a software bug in my case.

I have the same problem, on Asus k55v with Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 LTS.
If i use it unplugged, than its ok, while when its hooked up to the power grid 
the cursor constantly jiggling.

yes, I can download that file from windows browser, and I try it again under 
linux, it works well like normal, no pop err window. It seemed heals itself in 
the evening... = =Maybe just tired lol.
