[Bug 2061713] [NEW] ASUS Battery Won't Charge if Plugged in While Suspended
Public bug reported: When running Ubuntu (or any other linux distro i've tried) the laptop will not charge if it is plugged in while suspended. Charging works find if the laptop is awake, or if it is shut down. It also works properly when running windows which makes me think its not a hardware problem but a linux issue. The charge status doesn't seem to update at all when the computer is suspended. If it is charging when its put to sleep then the charge LED on the side is lit, and if I then unplug the charger the LED doesn't turn off until the computer is woken up. If the computer is plugged in while sleeping I know it isn't charging even though the light doesn't turn on because I have left it overnight and the battery stays at the same percentage. I've been unable to find any information about what could be causing this issue. My Laptop is an ASUS Zenbook Flip UX461UA Ubuntu Version: Description:Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS Release:22.04 I'm not sure what package would be causing this. What I expect to be happening: The battery should start charging if its plugged in while suspended What happened instead: Battery doesn't charge and charging indicator doesn't change until the computer is woken up ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: linux-image-6.5.0-27-generic 6.5.0-27.28~22.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.5.0-27.28~22.04.1-generic 6.5.13 Uname: Linux 6.5.0-27-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.5 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Mon Apr 15 23:21:17 2024 InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-04-16 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS "Jammy Jellyfish" - Release amd64 (20240220) SourcePackage: linux-signed-hwe-6.5 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug jammy wayland-session -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2061713 Title: ASUS Battery Won't Charge if Plugged in While Suspended To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2061713/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1964916] Re: [HP Omni 120-2110il AIO] Flickering white lines on screen
Can you help me out in installing the latest drmtip kernel.. Whenever I try to install drmtip kernel it shows error like, "linux-headers-***-generic depends on libc6(>= 2.34) however Version of libc6 on system is 2.31 Package libssl3 is not installed" I think I will have to compile the latest drmtip kernel to overcome these dependency issues.. [Bug 1964916] Re: [HP Omni 120-2110il AIO] Flickering white lines on screen
So here's an update, It seems like I don't have the 'Secure Boot' Option in my bios so I couldn't test it. I disabled UEFI devices from my bios and that forced it to use legacy boot devices only (Sandisk Cruzer Blade in the above video is my bootable pendrive from which I am installing ubuntu) Then reinstalled Ubuntu, but still the issues are same.. Here is a video of bug during the installation process- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VMa3WcwaYQ And here is a video of the startup process- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIZj-oHXCHs My BIOS doesn't have a direct option to switch to legacy or UEFI mode, so I disabled UEFI devices to force it to use legacy mode (and that's why there are not UEFI boot sources in the video above) In short- Nothing Changed, Everything is the same -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1964916 Title: [HP Omni 120-2110il AIO] Flickering white lines on screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-5.11/+bug/1964916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1767536] Re: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes
I notice that if I launch gnome-control-center from the command line with the "--verbose" option, when I'm on the WiFi tab it prints out all SSIDs available at extremely high speeds. It seems like maybe the periodic scan of networks is happening far too quickly. When I switch to a different tab there is a message about disabling periodic scanning, and suddenly the CPU usage drops dramatically and everything seems to work. I also notice that if I use "rfkill" to disable WiFi, and then run gnome-control-center I can't reproduce the high CPU usage. I'm attaching a snippet of the printouts that are coming on the WiFi tab. Notice it is printing about 2000 messages per second. ** Attachment added: "ssid_print_snippet.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+attachment/5200658/+files/ssid_print_snippet.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767536 Title: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1535088] Re: Linux Generic Kernel x -43
This may be the same thing we are seeing on OpenStack compute nodes since upgrade. Hard crash, no output to logs, local console occasionally shows a kernel panic ending with Fatal Exception in Interrupt, shutting down CPU's. We are seeing this reliably across 10 nodes which have been upgraded, and it doesn't happen on other nodes which are all running 3.13.0-62-generic. Have tried downgrading QEMU to 2.0, and OpenVswitch to 2.0.2-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, neither of which stop the problem happening. Hardware has also been stress tested and no memory or CPU issues. Still trying to find a reliable recreate, but seems to be connected with live migrations happening on other machines, where the node that crashes is hosting virtual instances on the same virtual networks on which the migration is happening. ** Attachment added: "Screen Shot 2016-01-21 at 05.15.02.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1535088/+attachment/4553994/+files/Screen%20Shot%202016-01-21%20at%2005.15.02.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535088 Title: Linux Generic Kernel x -43 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1535088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

With the kernel 3.13.0-41-generic, I can confirm that we are now able to run warm and cold resets of the mc via ipmitool correctly. On previous kernel those commands would cause kipmi to use 100% cpu time and require the ipmi modules to be unloaded and reloaded before ipmitool would operate correctly. [Bug 1243938] [NEW] 12.04 LTS (Precise) libmagic1 not returning ANY mime-type for some Microsoft Office files
Public bug reported: I am working on some software that will analyze arbitrary files, and determine the mime type using libmagic1 (tied closely with the file package). I have a C program that links with libmagic1, and it calls magic_file() correctly, but for certain files it's returning an empty string for the mime type. It appears to be Microsoft Office documents (such as Word and Excel documents), and the mime type returned is ; charset=binary instead of something like application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=binary. At the very least, I would expect it to return application/octet- stream instead of just nothing. This has been fixed in later versions of libmagic1, since I cannot reproduce on 13.04 raring or 13.10 saucy. [Bug 925005] Re: moria fails to start with Abort error
When you run it from a VT (Ctrl-Alt-F1 works) you get some output. Redirecting stdout shows that it's trying to create a file and it fails, but doesn't indicate which file. I played around some more and found out that the icon location I was using doesn't play nice when the nm-applet isn't in the indicator panel. [Bug 1028681] Re: ghostscript 9.05 fails with preview-latex and auctex
I believe that you are correct in thinking it is a problem in auctex. I installed 10.04 and shortly thereafter had this same problem with programs not being able to be installed (or presumably removed) and several other authorisation related problems as well. After much stress I found that the Policykit agent set to run on startup was a KDE one. The problem appears to have been solved by creating a new start up entry (System-Preferences-Startup Applications) to run the GNOME policy kit as Daniel wrote above (2010-03-02) and switching off the KDE one. I guess KDE and GNOME versions are not entirely compatible and appear to not be interchangable. It seems to be working for me. I'm sorry, it's the contrary: the first screen shot is when compiz is activated, the second without compiz -- impossible to use Thunderbird with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565950 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 565950] Re: impossible to use Thunderbird with compiz
I'm testing with the same hardware except my ATI GPU. I change to nvidia GPU. There is now no problem with compiz and proprietary nvidia driver. So I think it's the driver of ati GPU: apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-ati xserver-xorg-video-ati: Installed: 1:6.13.0-1ubuntu5 ** Attachment added: lspci-vvnn-nvidia http://launchpadlibrarian.net/44701480/lspci-vvnn-nvidia -- impossible to use Thunderbird with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565950 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
