[Bug 1682193] Re: Mouse acceleration significantly reduced after upgrade to 17.04

2017-05-03 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I had a similar problem. After upgrading to Xubuntu 17.04, the mouse was
too fast but settings had no effects. I solved this problem with xinput.

[Bug 1361906] Re: gvfsd-ftp crashed with SIGABRT in g_mutex_unlock_slowpath()

2014-11-04 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I solved this problem by updating gvfs (version 1.20.2-1ubuntu2 on
Ubuntu 14.10) with a newer version (1.22.1-1) from Debian Unstable.
Steps:

- Install the package debian-archive-keyring:

sudo apt-get install debian-archive-keyring

- Add the following line at the end of the file /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib

- Refresh repositories:

sudo apt-get update

- Update gvfs:

sudo apt-get install gvfs

- Delete or comment the line previously added in the file
/etc/apt/sources.list.

- Refresh repositories:

sudo apt-get update

[Bug 1368499] [NEW] History must be cleared twice to be fully cleared

2014-09-11 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

Steps for 1 item in the history
===

Say the clipboard is empty.

1) Copy with Ctrl+C some text from any software (for example gedit).
There's now 1 item in the clipboard history.

2) Click on the clipman icon on the panel and choose Clear.

Result: the item is not cleared, so there's still 1 item in the history.

3) Click again on the clipman icon on the panel and choose Clear.

Result: the history is now cleared. No item remains.

Steps for several items in the history
==

Say the clipboard is empty.

1) Copy with Ctrl+C some text from any software (for example gedit).
There's now 1 item in the clipboard history.

2) Copy again with Ctrl+C some text. There's now 2 items in the
history.

3) Copy again with Ctrl+C some text. There's now 3 items in the
history.

4) Click on the clipman icon on the panel and choose Clear.

Result: the first two items are cleared, but the last one remains, so
there's still 1 item in the history.

5) Click again on the clipman icon on the panel and choose Clear.

Result: the history is now cleared. No item remains.

Same problem here. Here's a workaroud:

- Go to the Thunderbird profile folder (for example,
~/.thunderbird/e7k4hcr2.default/). If the folder chrome doesn't

- In the folder chrome, if there's no file userChrome.css, create
it.

- In the file userChrome.css, put this content:

}

treechildren::-moz-tree-row(odd),
treechildren::-moz-tree-row(even) {

[Bug 766145] Re: KDM resets system settings from customized to default value

2011-10-08 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I too have this bug on Kubuntu 11.10 Beta 2.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: kdebase

- 1. Kubuntu 11.04 beta 2 (and 10.10)
- 2. KDE 4.6.2
+ Kubuntu 11.04 beta 2 (and 10.10)
+ KDE 4.6.2

- 3. To install new theme, but that doesn't work. I have installed new
- theme but it is not on list... That is not why I am here. That is
- another bug, I guess.
+ Steps to reproduce the bug:

- 4. System settings were changed from customised value to default: Fonts
- and Main toolbar text (in Fine Tuning)
+ 1) Open systemsettings
+ 2) Click on Login Screen
+ 3) Close systemsettings
+
+ Actual result: some system settings were changed from customized value
+ to default, e.g. Fonts and Main toolbar text (in Fine Tuning)

  I have reported this bug on bugs.kde.org. There is no response there,
  but there is another user with this issue and he thinks that the problem
  could be in Kubuntu packages...

  Thank you.

[Bug 861644] [NEW] Lacks translated words in French

2011-09-28 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2, weather applet in gnome-panel displays some
words in English, even if translation in French is 100% completed (see
http://l10n.gnome.org/module/libgweather/). For example, applet will
display:

Conditions : Mist
Ciel : Overcast

instead of:

Conditions : Brume
Ciel : Couvert

In previous versions of Ubuntu, this applet was fully translated.

[Bug 760632] Re: Resizing Konsole crashes the whole system

2011-09-19 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
I added One Hundred Paper Cuts in the list of affected projects, in
the hope they will put the updated package fixing this bug in the
repos.

According to this project: A paper cut is a trivially fixable usability
bug that the average user would encounter in default installation of
Ubuntu or Kubuntu Desktop Edition.

I've just installed a default Kubuntu 11.04 yesterday, and I encountered
system freeze after only a few minutes. And this bug is trivially
fixable since there's an updated package fixing this bug; it's just not
in the official repos.

plugins written in Python. When I go to Edit Preferences Plugins

the output on a terminal when I try to enable Snippets:

[Bug 838290] [NEW] Folder appears twice in Places

2011-08-31 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

If Desktop and Download folders are set to the same path, Nautilus
will display this folder twice in the Computer section on the sidebar.

To reproduce the bug:

1) Open ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and set the same path for Desktop
and Download:

XDG_DESKTOP_DIR=$HOME/Bureau
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=$HOME/Bureau

2) Kill Nautilus and open it again.

3) Make sure the sidebar and Places are displayed on Display
Sidebar.

Actual result: Bureau is displayed twice on the Computer section.
See the attached screenshot.

Expected result: see only one link to Bureau.

More information: if we comment the Download folder on ~/.config
/user-dirs.dirs:

XDG_DESKTOP_DIR=$HOME/Bureau
#XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR=$HOME/Bureau

then kill Nautilus and open it again, only one link to Bureau is
displayed.

My config:

- Nautilus 3.1.4
- Ubuntu 11.10 Alpha 3
- locale: fr_CA.UTF-8

[Bug 821544] [NEW] Places in the sidebar keep listing non existent folders

2011-08-05 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu Oneiric Alpha 3 (session Gnome fallback mode), Nautilus
displays on its sidebar 3 lists of emplacements: Bookmarks, Computer
and Network. In the section Computer, folders created by default on
home are listed: Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, etc.

If we remove on home one of these folders (for example Music), it's
still listed on the section Computer, even if we kill and restart
Nautilus. If we click on the non existent folder on the sidebar, we have
this error message:

Could not find /home/ubuntu/Music.
Please check the spelling and try again.

Expected result: non existent folders should not be listed.

[Bug 821544] Re: Places in the sidebar keep listing non existent folders

2011-08-05 Thread Jean-Philippe Fleury
Hi Brendan,

If folders listed in the section Computer are bookmarks, they seem to
be hard coded. The problem is that I can't find any way to remove an
emplacement listed in the section Computer. On Nautilus, if we go to
Bookmarks Edit Bookmarks..., any modification will be reflected in
the section Bookmarks but not in the section Computer.

See the attached screenshot. In this screenshot, we can see that I
deleted the folder Music on my home but it's still listed in the
section Computer even if it's not a bookmark.
