Also, udev settle makes you wait for devices that might not be

I'm trying to use a USB Network adapter, Trendnet TU2-ET100 (AX88772).
This adapter is managed by the asix.ko kernel module.
When I boot with the adapter plugged-in, the adapter seems to configure
