[Bug 686848] [NEW] xserver unresponsive after suspend to ram
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel * It happened only once since a fresh install of Maverick last week. (I suspend all the time). * I was stucked at the lock screen after resume * The mouse pointer was moving, and changing shape when hovering over the password input field (password field), but the remaining of the screen was blank (I could not see the password input field). * Trying to type the password blindlessly did nothing * The disks I/O seemed idle, according to leds on the laptop * When switching to a console (ctrl-alt-f1), a warning message appeared about drm and i915, but I haven't noted it, sorry. The message was appearing repetidly about once each second, covering the input field in the console. * The laptop is a Dell Vostro 3400 equipped with the core i3-350M, and using the intel GPU included in the processor. * The installation is Maverick x86_64 I hope everything is there! [Bug 453729] Re: f-spot.exe crashed in Print Preview
Hello there, I'm unable to reproduce that bug with color profiles enabled in Ubuntu Lucid with F-Spot 0.6.1.5 . I know some work have been done to the color management of F-Spot, that might have fixed this issue. Can you try again with an updated version of F-Spot an see of it is still an issue for you? [Bug 339091] Re: [i945] screen freezes a few minutes after resuming
My 2 cents: it happened to me a lot of times (almost every time) in intrepid with -proposed repository activated (and system full up-to- date). I had to re-install but now I did without activating -proposed, and while this is still happening, it does a lot less often now. I just want to make sure, though, that we have the same problem: my system seems to freeze with a black screen, I don't even have the option to type in my passwd. It doesn't seem to recieve any keyboard input as I blindly switched to a console, typed in my username and password (correctly, I did it very slowly) and then issuing a sudo reboot now command, nothing happened, I had to hard reboot the laptop. I am using a dell inspiron 1545 with intel X4500HD video accelerator with a pentium dual core. Hope it helps. -- [i945] screen freezes a few minutes after resuming https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/339091 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 325221] [NEW] Please UN-backport Brasero 0.9.1 since it's breaking non-English systems
I'm curious about which language system it brakes. I'm using a french system and Nautilus appears to be in french in every corner. I've tried to delete an item to get that dialog refered in the IRC log, and the message appears to be in french as well, so it might not change language for every non-english system. I can confirm the bug using rhythmbox 0.11.6svn20080903-0ubuntu2 (intrepid source compiled under hardy). The behavior is exactly the same as rhythmbox 0.11.5 available in standard hardy. While I haven't looked at the patch referred by Christian Apolloni, I found my way out for the moment: when all the songs are transferred to the ipod, just play a song from each album on the ipod (that can be done by double- clicking on the name of the album via the library browser in rhythbmox) and wait for the album art to appear. [Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again
I'm having hte exact same behaviour. I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy, upgraded from gutsy-rc. I have installed Sabayon. I also disabled some services from the session-management menu (blue-tooth, at-visual) since I don't need them. Desktop effects are activated, but I get the same behaviour if they are disabled, so those are not the problem. The process that causes the 100% CPU is Nautilus. Steps to reproduce: - Log in. - Log out. - Re-log in. At this time, the session loading is quite long. The panels are appearing after a while and are usable, but the desktop stays empty. Right-clicking on it does nothing. - Trying to log out, the panels will freeze, and the "logout window" will appear after 1-2 minutes (long.) Shall I understand the bug is closed or does the problem presist when Compiz is activated? -- Compiz - Main window in evolution missing window decorations https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153458 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 153458] Re: Main window in evolution missing window decorations
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" [WWW] http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. [WWW] http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures We would need the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. This will help us to find and resolve the problem. [Bug 112518] Re: Switch User freezes at blank screen
Hi Mke E. I noticed after trying Kubuntu that when one switches user, it opens another "VT" with another X server to that other user. For example, lets say user "Joe" is logged-in usuallyand has locked the screen. Then user "Sarah" arrives and activates the "Switch User" button, then KDM appears as expected. She loges-in to work, and now Joe arrives to continue his work. She lockes the screen, and then Joe just has to push control-alt-F7 to access his locked session, while leaving Sarah's session intact and accessible via control-alt-F9. In other words, is that possible that this situation is making a confusion here? You do not have Compiz neither Metacity activated, well, do you have Beryl? I've extensively played with those "Switch user" options, and the only time it really lock-up the computer, leaving it in an unusable state is when "desktop effects" (either by Beryl or Compiz) are activated while switching users. -- Switch User freezes at blank screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 37768] Re: gnome-volume-manager mounting Partition, while working with GParted
Same here. Actually, things are strange, as the partition is mounted and it appears as "unmounted" into gparted. Here's a screenshot of the result. ** Attachment added: "Gparted opened showing the "unmounted" partition that is indeed mounted as "disk" on the desktop" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8530351/screenshot1.png -- gnome-volume-manager mounting Partition, while working with GParted https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/37768 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 112518] Re: Switch User freezes at blank screen
It happens to me as well, but only when using Beryl. I have not tried compiz (3D desktop) so I cannot compare, but at least it happens when using Beryl. Are you using compositing engine (Desktop Cube for example)? If so, try to reproduce while disabeling it. My machine specs are: -Celeron 1.7GHz -768Mb RAM -Nvidia GeForce 6200 128Mb RAM I don't know if higher specs would solve the problem. -- Switch User freezes at blank screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 122734] digikam crashes when assigning tag to multiple pictures
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: digikam To reproduce the crash, simply select a bunch of pictures and tick a tag to assign it to the selected pictures. Digikam will crash. I am using digikam ver 0.9.1 natively installed on kubuntu 7.04. [Bug 115256] f-spot crashes when exporting pictures to directory
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot When exporting large amount of bog-sized pictures do directory, f-spot crashes.
