[Bug 1385709] Re: network-manager service doesn't start at boot time
I am/was also affected by this bug and can confirm that it is caused by leftover files from a former sendmail installation. Because of this, I'll add the sendmail package to the bug. Reinstalling sendmail removed the bug. Doing an apt-get purge on all sendmail-related packages also removed the bug (and the offending files). @ amichair Thank you for figuring this out! [Bug 1067045] Re: apt-check reporting incorrect info
actually, there were 6 packages: three dummy-packages (that always depend on the latest corresponding real package) and the three real packages, that contain the new linux-kernel. So 6 packages had to be updated/installed, and all 6 were security-relevant packages. The only difference between the outputs of apt-check and apt-get is, that apt-get distinguishes between packages that will be updated and packages that will be installed. (If you look closely, there were 6 different packages named in your initial apt-get output as well.) ** Changed in: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067045 Title: apt-check reporting incorrect info To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/1067045/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
