This seems to still be present in 16.04. I'm experiencing very slow boot
because of gpu-manager - from systemd-analyze:
gpu-manager.service (50.583s)
Any thoughts?

I had the same issue with Kubuntu 11.10 which seems to be caused by
/etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh being missing.
I reinstalled acpid and powerbtn.sh was created.
This seems to have cured the problem.

Correction - reinstalling acpid does create the missing file, but
approx 20sec delay/freeze after pressing the power button is still
present following a reboot.
Using Kubuntu 11.10 with KDE 4.7.4
