@Rob, I did what you said, but it didn't fix to me. I tried many times,
reopening OOo Impress and reactivating Compiz, but I had no success.
If I disable Compiz, I can get it working well on full screen mode.
(Using updated 10.04 and OOo 3.2.0)

I also can't play any video format at any video player (totem, kaffeine,
mplayer, vlc, miro...). The outputs are the same presented by IcedEarth.
Workaround to get it working: open gstreamer-properties. Then, Video
tab, Default Output section. Change the Plugin from Autodetect to X

- Press record button.
