When I try to hibernate the screen goes blank, the harddisk shows
activity for 10 to 20 seconds but the laptop stays on. Now, when I move
the mouse, I am asked to give my password for unlocking.

reproducable, sometimes it takes 5 mins, sometimes 8 hours but I didnt download
one bigger file (1G) over bittorrent without a freeze.
It happened sometimes that bittorrent ran for some hours, without an user, and

I have used hibernation to a swapfile for some time without problems and
thought the disabled hibernate was a bug (Bug 252143). So is there a way to
reenable it?
The other really funny aspect here is: On a fresh ubuntu installation without

I installed ubuntustudio 8.04.1 without a swapspace. = hibernate-button is

Then I create and activate a swapfile and define resume= and resume_offset=
kerneloptions. = Now the hibernate-button vanished.

I installed stock azureus to my home-dir yesterday and had two freezes.
Now, after my third freeze today, fifth over all, found this bug-report.
I'm using ubuntustudio RC updated. Mine freezes totally (no
ctrl+alt+backspace, nor reisub just hard reset). I have no atheros-NIC,
just two intel
I'm using e1000 and iwl3945 and the generic-kernel (2.6.24-16).
