I can confirm that my system actually has broken hardware, which could
well have been the cause of this issue for me (and perhaps others.) It
only showed up on a memtest running patterns - can someone else please
run a memtest overnight and see if they too have an issue?
I've been running win7
Does anyone have a suitable / easy work around for this bug? The easiest
solution I've come up with is to install 10.04 instead.

The source on ralink's site is pretty ugly, but has worked as a work
around for some time.
This is a fairly popular driver, and although people might not *need*
802.11n, I believe it's more important what with all the HD

I agree this *is* a bug. What once worked properly in a previous version
(skype/flash for example) no longer works.
I have no right to rant on (I sure didn't pay for Ubuntu and nobody for
forced me to install it!), but there must be literally thousands of

I also get this problem. What a shame! This should most definitely be
marked as a bug to be patched via auto-updates. Otherwise it should
simply be removed from the repos as it just doesn't work.
