[Bug 1880060] Re: do-release-upgrade -d results in "An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade"

2020-05-22 Thread John Shipp
This appears to affect the Mate flavor, but not the main Ubuntu (Gnome
flavor). I installed a fresh VM using ubuntu-18.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso
and do-release-upgrade worked fine.

[Bug 1880060] [NEW] do-release-upgrade -d results in "An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade"

2020-05-21 Thread John Shipp
Public bug reported:

I'm just trying to upgrade from to 20.04. It is the guest OS in vmware
workstaion running on win7-64. I also tried installing a FRESH Ubuntu
Mate 18.04 as the guest in VirtualBox running on Mate 20.04 and the same
error happened when I ran do-release-upgrade.

My perspective suggests that this bug might have came from upsteam.

I'm running DEBIAN 9 in VMware Workstation 12.5.9 build-7535481 and
having this exact same issue.
