[Bug 213845] [NEW] Computer brought to complete halt when changing keyboard layouts using fglrx

2008-04-08 Thread Jon Ramvi
Public bug reported:

This bug has been present for the whole alpha and beta period of Hardy.

1. I've added Norwegian and English Macintosh layouts. Only the first
one works like it should after a reboot. The other one is just gibberish
characters.

2. Making any change to the keyboard settings makes the secondary layout
work as expected. Most changes however, brings the computer to a
complete halt. This bug doesn't apply using radeonhd.

I think this bug is of high priority as I guess most people with ATI
cards use the fglrx driver. Two or more keyboard layouts won't work for
them.

[Bug 146558] Re: The sound is distorted on Macbook Pro 17 2.16 GHz

2007-12-22 Thread Jon Ramvi
Hi again,
I would say the importance of this is higher than low, as it drastically
reduces the value of the Macbook Pro.

Anyway, after having crackling sound for over a year, I got it fixed!
I got the fix from gentoo's wiki:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_Apple_MacBook#Crackling_Sound_on_the_left_Channel

The fix that worked for me was:
rmmod snd_hda_intel
modprobe snd_hda_intel

from Ubuntu dapper.
-
- The sound from the left speaker is making distorted sounds, as if it's
- broken. It's the same no matter what speakers I use (internal, external,
- headphones). And it doesn't happen in os x.
