I was hoping this fixes would come with Ubuntu Mate 20.04.2, but
unfortunately it seems it didn't happen. Is there any plans to release
this fixes to Ubuntu Mate 20.04? Or is there at least a ppa or any other
alternative to fix the missing icons?

This problem is really annoying and still it seems to be present in
Hardy beta. I just wish that a proper solution would be presented for
the user. I know how to fix it using the command line, but this is not a
good solution for a distro that claims to be easy to use.
Maybe an option to correct
It would be great to have an official bugfix update for Gusty. Is that
possible any time soon?

I think I found another problem related to this bug.
If the missing nfs mount uses quota, the quota command will not know it at all.
If I want to know my quota limits on that nfs mount I have no way unless I
manually remount it.
I was wondering if there are other programs that would be affected
