Or maybe not. I also have the same scanner, and the same problem when
scanning the top part of the scanner (this is, sheets bigger than A4).

I can confirm this error, at least with my scanner (LiDE 30).
If I try to scan anything slightly bigger than A4 (which my scanner
allows, just a couple of centimeters), the top part is cropped to A4
height. The width can be a bit bigger than A4, but not the height.
In other programs, such as Xsan
This problem happens to me everytime I scan many pages in a row. When
the RAM of my PC is over, the program crashes.
Other programs, such as XSane, scan to temporary files, so that it is
not necessary to keep all the scanned pages in memory, and they allow
the possibility to resume scanning what y
It is indeed troublesome to keep all the pages the exact same size,
especially when you scan in different session in order to avoid out of
memory crashes. This feature would certainly be helpful.

Does it crash while scanning just 1 picture, or after having scanned
many pictures? Does it happen always, or randomly?

Actually, I don't think this bug is fixed at all.
When scanning text documents (at 300 dpi), around 15 pages consumes
about 500 to 900 MB of memory. If I continue scanning, eventually the
program will run out of memory, and crash, therefore all the work will
be lost.
Furthermore, sometimes the cr
I am not sure if this is the same problem I have. simple-scan only
supports two scan modes:
- Text (B/W)
- Graphics (colour)
Therefore, if you select graphics, you get the paper scanned in colour,
but the cleaning filters used in the text mode are not applied.

I have just had this error while opening some pdf files from Firefox.
One of them (http://www.docv.gva.es/datos/2010/09/06/pdf/2010_9553.pdf)
has crashed evince. Nonetheless, once I have tried again it has opened
the file without problems. So, the error hasn't reproduced.
In kern.log I get:

Indeed, I think the regulatory domain should be able to be changed from

from the IP address, or even better, from the location set in the clock

By the way, I added the "nopat" option to /etc/default/grub, and after
some days I have not seen the error again. Before, it was happening
around 85% of the boots.
