I am on 18.04, tried > sudo apt purge ttf-mscorefonts-installer
and then downloaded the package from https://packages.ubuntu.com/eoan /ttf-mscorefonts-installer, which supposedly already fixed the issue as per #49. However, it still tried to download the fonts from Sourceforge, and failed. There is another problem, which is that the package installation exits successfully even if the download fails.
