[Bug 1973098] [NEW] Intermittent freezing and LSPCON init failed kernel messages

2022-05-11 Thread Kamikaze
Public bug reported:

Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad model 20ST0055AU

Boot messages show:
[6.397804] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon
[6.397901] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20201103 for :00:02.0 on minor 0

During normal operation there will intermittently be a freeze for a
second or two and then more of these messages display in the kernel
logs:

[ 505.487006] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon
[ 505.487072] [drm:lspcon_resume [i915]] *ERROR* LSPCON init failed on port D
[ 506.747930] [drm:lspcon_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to probe lspcon
[ 506.748018] [drm:lspcon_resume [i915]] *ERROR* LSPCON init failed on port D

The system will then become operational again.

The system is still usable, but it is annoying.

I've switched onto this OEM kernel from the generic kernel (5.13), as I
had other problems with 5.13 regarding external displays not coming back
after idle timeouts.

[Bug 1934297] [NEW] upgrade to 20.04 from 18.04 unsuccessful

2021-07-01 Thread Kamikaze Blitzkrieg
Public bug reported:

(1)Description: Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS
Release:18.04

(2)gnome:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 1:3.22+9
  Version table:
 1:3.22+9 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe amd64 Packages

(3) I expected the upgrade to 20.04 from 18.04 to happen without any issues.
(4) The upgrade failed with this error message. I have also attached the
contents of /var/log/dist-upgrade/apt.log and /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log

An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

 This was likely caused by:
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
try the upgrade again.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command
'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal. If you want to
investigate this yourself the log files in '/var/log/dist-upgrade' will
contain details about the upgrade. Specifically, look at 'main.log' and
'apt.log'.

[Bug 1822748] [NEW] pressing ctrl when renaming files causes the rename window to disappear

2019-04-02 Thread Kamikaze
Public bug reported:

When renaming files, upon pressing the ctrl key (e.g. to copy the
filename or highlight a part of it), the rename window disappears, which
is rather annoying. It was working before, not sure about the first
occurrence of the problem. I have tried to set different selection
modes. I have tried reinstalling krusader. Neither helped.

Gnome: 3.30.1
Krusader: 2:2.7.1-1

[Bug 1477838] Re: [MX4] Crackling sound after playing audio and suspended

2016-01-06 Thread Kamikaze
Also affected. I can reproduce this perhaps near 50% of the time by opening a
terminal and running:
aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Left.wav
And immediately on pressing enter turning the screen off.

You should do this somewhere reasonably quiet and you will hear the
crackle/static/hissing sound a few seconds after the sound finishes.

[Bug 860322] Re: [Oneiric] Skype Icon in Unity has problems

2011-10-24 Thread KamikazE
I've Ubuntu 11.10 (64bit version) and I was suffering the same bug here. I've
removed Skype 64bit (which I downloaded from Skype website) and installed the
package skype:i386 2.2.0.35-0oneiric2 from Software Center.
Now Skype doesn't run at all..

 Hi Kamikaze,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
 available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
 Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically
gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

 apport-collect -p linux 397712

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon
next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your
 results.

 Thanks in advance.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
