while booting, then selecting F6 for additional boot options and checked
almost everything.

2015-08-23 18:56 GMT+03:00 Mike Miller mtmil...@debian.org:

Have you tried connecting without the --passwd-on-stdin option? I think
that option is why you are only being prompted for the username. And
when you hit enter, you are entering a blank password string. Or at
least that's my best guess based on the info you've provided. Can you
report back here if you're able to connect without that option?

[Bug 1431332] Re: sddm not starting after upgrade

2015-05-24 Thread Kari Haapanen
Why is this invalid? Nothing has changed.

Today I was surfing with chrome when I noticed that the panel and
application launcher and whole desktop actually disappeared. Went black.
After a reboot I log in but all there is is the black screen and mouse
pointer.

I've tried to flush .kde and .config directories, but nothing changes. I
had a backup of my working home directory, but restoring it does not
help either.

I had created another user, with which the desktop is wstill orking. I
copied all directories beginning with a dot to my own directory and
chmoded, but no. Plasma is dead.

Only working solution seems to be quitting KDE, right?

2015-05-23 Thread Kari Haapanen
Tried OpenConnect but it does not connect at all. Filed another bug about
it.

- Karsta

2015-05-16 22:25 GMT+03:00 dwmw2 dw...@infradead.org:

If you can use the AnyConnect protocol instead of IPSec, then
OpenConnect shouldn't have the 7½ hour disconnection issue that you see
with vpnc. That's probably something to do with unimplemented rekeying
in vpnc. We *do* support rekeying in OpenConnect.

OpenConnect itself can handle keeping the connection alive when you
roam. NetworkManager can't though. There are open bug reports for that,
 including https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349151

[Bug 1454562] Re: cisco anyconnect degrades network

2015-05-18 Thread Kari Haapanen
A bit off topic, but just tried OpenConnect which I would happily use as
a replacement for Anyconnect.

Gateway probably equals Host in Anyconnect? That's all I have in the
OpenConnect connection settings anyway.

When connecting, I use my username and pin+token as Password just as
in Anyconnect, but login fails.

The last two lines in the log are:

X-Aggregate-Auth: 1
HTTP body chunked (-2)

Everything else in the log looks ok.
Am I doing something wrong?

A lot of installations on different laptops. This always comes back. Even
after the final release. Today after installing grive. Removing .kde helped on
one, but not on the other after grive Every update is scary.
Why the status is invalid?

[Bug 1431332] Re: sddm not starting after upgrade

2015-04-19 Thread Kari Haapanen
ok. Here we go again.
After my previous post I did a fresh install. All good. I updated a few times,
and still all good.
I had decided not to update any more, because I had a feeling that it will
break up again.
For being stupid, I updated it yesterday anyway.:

The result is that after login, the horizontal bar goes all the way to the
right as it is supposed to, but it stays there for a (too) long time. Then the
screen goes black. Mouse pointer is visible and moving, but the screen is black.
Pressing alt-f2 gives the command field and I can type in it, but pressing
enter does nothing.

Attached the apt history.log which has all actions after the fresh
install until the final disaster yesterday.

My hw is Dell Latitude E6410 with intel graphics.

I hope someone is interested. April 23rd is approaching.

[Bug 1431332] Re: sddm not starting after upgrade

2015-04-14 Thread Kari Haapanen
I'm having this right now. The workarounds/fixes don't help.

After installing kubuntu 15.04 beta from dvd all was good until I did
apt-get upgrade and installed some new stuff yesterday Apr 13th (I
guess).

Attached apt's history which shows packages before and after.

seemed to help.

Ok, this is my workaround.
I got it working by mounting from the client's fstab with these options:

rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768

Are the sizes optimal for performance, i have not tested, but seems
pretty ok.

I have a 32bit Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS as an nfs server, which has been working ever
since with Mint 13 64bit client among many others.
I haven't changed anything on it, but normal updates.

Now I installed a fresh 64bit Ubuntu 12.10 (3.5.0-17 kernel) as a client and
now i have this issue when using this client.
Load does not climb up on the server, but CPU usage does.

Is this really a server-only issue, since all i changed was my client?
