[Bug 1751689] Re: apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="libreoffice-soffice" name="/etc/sane.d/dll.d/hplip"

2018-03-06 Thread Kenneth Long
sorry about the improper naming... " apparmor, not apport "
The machine I was using when this bug was originally found had a failed hard
drive.
new hard and new install of xubuntu. its using all the default repositories the
comes with xubuntu.
it also has a google ppa for chrome install.

uname -a
Linux know 4.13.0-36-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 16 20:07:48 UTC 2018 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 17.10
Release:17.10
Codename:   artful

this problem still exists and the install version of libreoffice is

Version: 5.4.5.1
Build ID: 1:5.4.5-0ubuntu0.17.10.4
CPU threads: 16; OS: unknown; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

and kern.log shows the error -

Mar  6 17:27:13 know kernel: [ 2083.820190] audit: type=1400
audit(1520375233.628:35): apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile
="libreoffice-soffice" name="/etc/sane.d/dll.d/hplip" pid=3747
comm="soffice.bin" requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" fsuid=1001 ouid=0

should these repositories below have this updated libreoffice ?
what else can I look for?

root@know:/etc/apt# cat sources.list | grep -v \#

I believe the xsane crash is from me running it in a terminal and not
exiting nicely. I just closed the terminal before shutting it down.

[Bug 1311399] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 forgets Display Settings from monitors.xml / xorg.conf (Dual-Screen Setup)

2014-04-28 Thread Kenneth Long
I think I have this bug, also. I have two displays attached to my notebook. a
Dual display works .. but the config does not save after reboots. I have
nvidia driver installed and Dual display persisted between boots before Trusty.
I'm using NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.67.run driver. blacklisted nouveau. not
using synaptic for the driver at this moment.

Let me know what other info to provide.
