[Bug 1855531] [NEW] Installation - partition manager is breaking
Public bug reported: Daily kubuntu, clean install in virtualbox I wanted to try if it is possible to have an encrypted boot partition too, like openSuSE. I opted for manual configuration of the partitions and created a new partition table. First i created a small (1G) partition and chosed "encrypted storage" (or whatever it was called) instead of a file system. I closed the dialog window. Then I did the same thing with the intended root partition. It crashed when i closed that dialog. [Bug 1512120] Re: thunar crashes on file renaming
This is a compiled version of the latest sources of today, Thunar 1.6.11 from 13 Feb 2017. Default options. 1) Remove your old version. 2) Install this one. 3) Restart the system. 4) Try to make it crash and see if it works for you as well. It haven't crashed for me, seems to work. I don't know if the patched version in future will replace this one, or if you have to change back manually if you want it. This kind of bug is critical to many users of XFCE. We are stuck with the last "stable" Xubuntu LTS 14.04 while it is running close to EOL. ** TO MAINTAINERS OF XUBUNTU I don't know how hard it is to solve such a problem. [Bug 1561981] [NEW] Feature requset - To network manager in Xubuntu
Public bug reported: Not a bug, it is a feature request. Is it possible to add a setting where you can enable/disable internet on each network device or interface? [Bug 1512266] [NEW] Xubuntu. Plymouth breaks after upgrade from 14.04.0 to 14.04.3
Public bug reported: Guide to update from 14.04.0 to 14.04.3 breaks Plymouth at Xubuntu. I have tried this with Xubuntu 14.04 several times with the same result. Always updated 64-bit systems from a minimal CD, if it matters. I do not use any proprietary drivers, and have been using two different hardwares. >From this site: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack I have followed this instruction: sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-core-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-video-all-lts-vivid xserver-xorg-input-all-lts-vivid libwayland-egl1-mesa-lts-vivid. ** What I expect to happen I expect the system to boot normally, and ask for the password in the gui as usual. What do happen? Plymouth breaks when using an Luks encrypted drive. It turns off the screen (“no signal”) instead of asking for password. (Workaround, press ESC to change to text mode. Then the screen turns on again in text mode.) I have not tried this out with an unencrypted disk. I GUESS that LUKS is not involved in itself, but stops the boot at the same time as Plymouth breaks, and makes it far more distracting. I have got the same problem on Ubuntu-Mate, but I don't know if more official flavors are affected. Xubuntu version 14.04.3 natively uses the vivid x stack and kernel, so it is already solved somewhere else. ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512266 Title: Xubuntu. If nobody else have done it first, I will try to reproduce it on a new install in virtualbox. I will publish the results here whatever they are. But it might take some days before I can take time for it. I have not messed with the settings or have been using any special tools. But there is still no guarantee that it is not my particular install that is messy. Especially as trusty still was a late alfa when I upgraded. We can't trust such systems. :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1288075 Title: Xubuntu lightdm: Wrong wallpaper at login screen. [Bug 1288075] [NEW] Xubuntu lightdm: Wrong wallpaper at login screen.
Public bug reported: This bug is about the background image/wallpaper in xubuntu's lightdm. The login screen. The wallpaper is supposed to be the same as the wallpaper for the marked user. This bug seems old, but I face the same issue today in Xubuntu 12.04.3, i386. It shouldn't affect anything(?), but just in case... I used the alt- installer and used expert mode. [Bug 1268120] Re: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager
According to comment #11 the source of the problem have changed. It's caused by a bad behavior from the installation process of apt-build. It is (correctly in my case) creating a amd-64 folder tree in the /var/cache. But it wrongly puts a i386-line in sources.list. Those to MUST be identical. ** Package changed: update-manager (Ubuntu) = apt-build (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268120 Title: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-build/+bug/1268120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1268120] Re: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager
I checked this at both versions, saucy precise. It might be correct, but maybe not. But to me it seems to be something wrong with the folder structure, or where in it the program are looking. Ind the sources-manager I can find the row file:/var/cache/apt- build/repository. (Is mentioned before.) I looked in the folder manually. ther i found this -ls output--- dists [folder] gthumb_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb gthumb-data_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_all.deb gthumb-dbg_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb gthumb-dev_3.0.2-0ubuntu3+aptbuild1_amd64.deb Packages.gz Release -- But the error message was complaining about this folder /var/cache/apt- build/repository/dists/apt-build/main/binary-i386/Packages And that's correct! THAT folder doesn't exist. The real structyre goes like this at my amd-64 machine. (The folder structure seems to be looped, linked back to a parent folder.) /var/cache/apt-build/repository/dists/apt-build/main/binary-amd64/dists /apt-build/... In his new light I have to conclude that the error message itself is correct. The bug is that it is looking in the wrong folder. There is nothing there to find. The update programs is not to blame anymore. SOLUTIONS I can se some different solutions. But im not a developer so some of them might be useless, or create new problems elsewere. My suggests is: 1) Configure apt-build to always put the files in the same folder, and link to that one in sources.list. (Easy fix?) 2) Configure apt-build to always update sources.list with the right path. (Better fix?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268120 Title: apt-build generates en error message in update-manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-build/+bug/1268120/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1239564] [NEW] Grub does not find other distros /Linux Mint
Public bug reported: Running Xubuntu 13.10 Beta (Saucy) booting with Grub2 on my first boot disc. (sdb) I have also installed Linux Mint (Olivia/Raring) on another disk (sdc), and have been running update-grub on Xubuntu. It only finds the Xubuntu dist. [Bug 983773] Re: While using mobile broadband connection, no icon is shown in Xubuntu
I have the same problem. I run xubuntu 12.04 upgraded from 10.04. I found that the icon only where missing at my own (and only) account. But if I created a new account the icons showed corrrectly. Therefore I suspected that the problem was related to the user settings, but i don't know what file. On the other hand, it also presented a workaround! I created another account with sudo rights (add user to sudo user group). From the new accout I moved all my documents and obvisly not affected settings from my home folder to a new place. (Ex /home/savedstuff). Then I deleted ever single file in my home folder. Then I logged in as myself again, and xubuntu recreated al my settings to the default one, including the missing icon. Then I could copy all my files back to my home folder again. Dont forget to change back the ownership of the files, wich might have changed. Can someone find wich file that stores the information i question? /Kenneth -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983773 Title: While using mobile broadband connection, no icon is shown in Xubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/983773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
