same problem when switching from Russian to Japanese(ibus-anthy) as well as Chinese(ibus-libpinyin). And Korean(ibus-hangul) works fine. I've spent 3 days to solve this problem. And finally I found this link. Changing disable_xdamage value works fine. thanks.
