[Bug 1725788] Re: Fail to resume after suspend on Ubuntu 17.10 with Radeon RX 480

2017-10-31 Thread KlavKalashj
The patch in the kernel bug report was submitted to Linux 4.14-rc7. I
tested the mainline ubuntu kernel, and it now works like it should. I'm
tagging this as 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. Will this patch be backported
to the 17.10 kernel or will 17.10 be upgraded to Linux 4.14 once
released?

[Bug 543294] Re: brightness hotkeys don't work as expected, asus ul30a

2010-05-02 Thread KlavKalashj
Wow, thank you Minsang Kim! That actually works 100% perfectly for me! :)
I also want to add, if you still want plymouth to show, it also works with:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=quiet splash acpi_backlight=vendor

So you don't need to remove the default options, just add the last.
Thanks again for workaround!

[Bug 540801] Re: X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash)

2010-04-25 Thread KlavKalashj
For me works the same as Bratmaxe, Plymouth is showing at shutdown, but
not the at boot, sometimes it shows at boot but only a half second or
so. I tried the workaround, and now it's perfect. Only tested once
though. Boot time does not seem longer. This is on Intel x4500HD.

[Bug 540801] Re: X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash)

2010-04-25 Thread KlavKalashj
@Uri Shabtay: Sorry, should have been more clear. It's the one Christian
Göbel describes also in the last post. I have now tried several reboots
and it still works perfectly. Why isn't this default on Intel hardware?
Most people could live with one more second of waiting, to have it look
nice :)

[Bug 543294] [NEW] brightness hotkeys don't work as expected, asus ul30a

2010-03-21 Thread KlavKalashj
Public bug reported:

1) Ubuntu Lucid Lynx beta 1, fully updated
2) Don't know the package name
3) Brightness goes up or down, depending on which button I press (fn+f5 or f6)
4) Brightness moves in random direction a couple of times, then stop responding

This worked perfectly in Karmic, afaik it's broken since alpha3 (that's
when I upgraded).
