[Bug 527157] Re: Brightness controls skips Levels.

2014-11-15 Thread Kojo Kumah
Seems odd to me that this bug is a low priority. The results are pretty
poor UX.

There are 3 interesting solutions here.
http://askubuntu.com/questions/208331/brightness-control-increments-brightness-by-4-instead-of-1

Fix 1 is a partial fix that worked for me right away. Still looking into
the others.

[Bug 774978] Re: xserver crashes in RecordAReply when XRecord is enabled in syndaemon

@Robert Ehelebe

I had an issue which seemed to be related to the one described here but
wasn't resolved by the fix here so I tried a couple of things that
resolved the problem the problem for me;

1. re-installed all xorg packages
2. clean out gnome/x11/xsession files in home directory (I had made some
changes to workaround some other bugs in the past)
3. removed all /etc/x11/xorg.conf* files (moved them actually)

I suspect this issue cropped up after upgrading to libc

downgrade as synaptic would remove other several other packages and
break my installation. Is it possible to revert to libc
2.12.1-0ubuntu6(maverick) through some other means?
