But to the real reason I post: this issue seems to be fixed for me now.
I am
Oh, so it's a recorded sound... it sure sounds more like somethings
broken in my speakers. I think it is the same, but it seems it is
played a bit faster (and therefore also at a higher pitch) when it
indicates suspend failure.
This GNOME bug is about this sound:
Good call on the long sleep time, I have to verify but I think it may be
the same for me - I wondered a bit what it could be that triggered it
sometimes and sometimes not, and I think the most common case is when
I've left it overnight, but also other cases when I've been away for a
longer while.
Same here with a HP2710p, it works but gives the message and beeps
briefly but loudly when resuming. It was silent both message-wise and
soundcard-wise earlier in the betas, though I'm not sure exactly when it
started misbehaving.

This bug has been long forgotten and buried. I have no idea if that part
of the installer even exists anymore (maybe the server install?)
As far as I'm concerned you might as well close it and let someone
reopen it if they have the issue.

WEP key for wireless takes only uppercase
I can confirm this, I have the exact same behaviour - though I didn't
realize until now that it was when I have a toolbox open.
Ubuntu 8.04 updated as yesterday, Wubi version. Can't try it anymore
though, because this last lock resulted in my installation going
unrecoverably south.

How do you get a bug unduplicated? Bug #140668 is not at all the same
issue, and the bug I want to be subscribed to. Thanks!

Is the functionality still around? Maybe on server? If you are a

Juergen: As I commented in one of the duplicates, pulseaudio or
libflashsupport are not the issue for me either. But disabling desktop
effects stopped all the crashes for me - though the problem started
occuring at the exact same time as for everyone else, a few weeks back.
