[Bug 1792085] [NEW] MTP no more working on Bionic
Public bug reported: Hi, unfortunately (for me) MTP android devices no more work on Ubuntu 18.04. I have used MTP on 16.04 without problems, but on 18.04 it does not work. When I connect my Android devices (Samsung A5 and Samsung J3) and I try to list directories with many files (e.g. /DCIM/Camera) the window hangs until I disconnect the device. Same issue if I try to post the command "ls /var/run/1000/gvfs/". I have installed Ubuntu 18.04 on two different machines - an older HP laptop and a recent DELL laptop - and the issue is present on the all of them. I suspect a defect on the "libmtp". [Bug 1526537] Re: blk_update_request: I/O error
I solved my problem! Recently I have published a guide on how to install linux on loopback LVM devices booting from USB (so without have to install grub on the internal disk, leaving it as original). Here is the guide: https://github.com/DareDevil73/linux-on-loopback-usb . Then I fallen in the freeze issue on high memory load and I observed an abnormal swap space usage (all the RAM eaten, and swap usage near to zero). Obviously the LVM swap partition was mounted and working properly, but I don't known why the kernel did not use it as expected. I tried an alternative solution. I have created a swap loopback file (not LVM) and the freeze is gone. Now the swap file is used as it would be, and the OS never freeze! Please look at https://github.com/DareDevil73/linux-on-loopback-usb #known-issues to get deeper information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1526537 Title: blk_update_request: I/O error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1526537/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
