I can also confirm that the update broke my Oneiric Ubuntu install as well. If I launch a terminal there are no window borders for instance. If I start for instance Thunderbird via terminal and do sudo thunderbird it starts, but still no window decorations. I'll try to revert to get back to

I'm sorry, but the gnome-settings-daemon does not seem to crash, just die. I don't have a .crash-file and when I do a 'ps -A' the process seems to be running. Killing it and restart it as sudo works, but it is annoying nevertheless. Any more hints would be appreciated to how I could assist in
