[Bug 420226] [NEW] Kubuntu Karmic desktop installer window makes some text on button not visible

2009-08-27 Thread Laur Mõtus
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity-frontend-kde

When using the new Karmic desktop installer in Estonian, the manual
partitioning screens the last button on the right (undo button) has some first
and some last letters cut off. The string on the button is quite long but
necessary because it is descriptive.
One possibility would be to make the installer window bigger or make it adapt
it's size to fit all the content properly the other to put the undo button one
row down.

[Bug 387053] [NEW] gnucash doesn't read account information

2009-06-14 Thread laur
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnucash

I loaded the gnucash application included in 9.04. It starts up and
loads my exsting gnucash file without a problem (existing file is from
using gnucash under MAC OSX). However, it does not appear to read my
accounts information, so i am unable to download transactions from my
various accounts. I'd like not to have to rereate alll that information
as it was quite time consuming to create. Is it possible to get te
Ubuntu version to read this information from the books file?

packagekit will now replace other package management in Kubuntu, am I right?
So the deprecated part is fixed and the default one still dosen't work :P the

Should i make a new report?

2009-03-04 Thread Laur Mõtus
The crash has been fixed, but the install dosen't succeed, it produces the
error message: The package file does not exist! This happens when there are
characters like ö ä ü õ in file path.
This is important, because in Estonian the default download folder for the
files - desktop is called 'töölaud'.

[Bug 328055] Re: python2.5 crashed with UnicodeDecodeError in module()

2009-02-15 Thread Laur Mõtus
This most likely has to do with the uncommon charater ö beign on the file
path. Characters ä ü õ give the same result.
When installing a package with gdebi directly form homefolder, so there is now
special charater on the file path everything works fine.
The crash is important though, because Desktop is Töölaud in estonian.

[Bug 196030] Re: Gdebi-kde can't install packages whose path contains brackets or spaces or other special characters.

2008-10-07 Thread Laur Mõtus
Jonathan, sorry, but it dosen't work with 0.3.13 on Interpid nor in up-to-date
Hardy, IF, as Risto pointed out, the folder name contains special charaters
that the english users will never encounter: ö õ ä or ü
In Estonian the desktop folder is translated 'Töölaud' and any attempt to
install packages from there in Hardy or Interpid fail, so i did a little test,
made folders Töö, Tää; Tüü and Tõõ and every time when trying to istall a
package from there with gdebi-kde, it fails. Running it from Console shows the
following error:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo gdebi-kde /home/user/Tõõ/nxclient_3.2.0-14_i386.deb
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/apt/__init__.py:18: FutureWarning: apt API not
stable yet
warnings.warn(apt API not stable yet, FutureWarning)
Error: /var/tmp/kdecache-user is owned by uid 1000 instead of uid 0.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/bin/gdebi-kde, line 100, in module
afile = unicode(afile, 'utf-8')
UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf8' codec can't decode bytes in position 13-16: invalid
data

when installing it from the console from any of these folders with just
the command line 'gdebi' everything works as expected.

Please somebody look into this because this bug means that any Estonian
or Finnish user can install anything from their desktop folders in Hardy
nor Interpid, and this leaves an unpleasant experience.

[Bug 141103] KDE doesn't display text any more

2007-09-19 Thread Laur Mõtus
Public bug reported:

One beautiful day Laur was just listening some music and doing some translation
work for gutsy like usually when a strange thing happened:
All KDE applications lost their text. Firefox was working just fine. Well,
actually all the KDE applications were working too, but none of them displayed
any text.
The problem stayed for two reboots into gutsy and dissapeared when I booted
into Debian Etch and rebooted to Gutsy.
Attaching screen shots.
