[Bug 1485139] Re: MAAS should let you specify which interfaces you want to bind tftp on.
Use case: One of the use cases is when you would like to run two TFTP servers on a single machine. We would like both to bind to different IP addresses. The reasoning in doing this is when MAAS isn't able to do all the bare-metal provisioning (re: other provisioning environments in the mix). In this scenario there's is a boot stage that classifies what type of baremetal node is loading and then chainloads to the appropriate service. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1485139 Title: MAAS should let you specify which interfaces you want to bind tftp on. Looking through `/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/provisioningserver/config.py`, it doesn't look like there's a config option for this. I'm hoping there's some other work around. [Bug 1167366] [NEW] Precise/Raring does not detect proper device (/dev/mapper/isw__Volume0p1) during preseed install
Public bug reported: 1. Description of the problem: When performing a preseed install, on Dell machines using the Intel Matrix RAID controller (BIOS/FW Raid - Intel Corporation Patsburg SATA RAID Controller) the installer fails to find the proper device and prompts where to install grub. The installer will just show "/dev/mapper". If you do install to just /dev/mapper it will fail. Instead I have to tell the installer to point to /dev/mapper/isw__Volume0". IMPORTANT: debug files are attached to this bug 2. Ubuntu release, software version, Release Number and Architecture of the selected components. Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS AMD64 AND Ubuntu Raring 3. How reproducible is the problem? Always using the reported Intel Matrix RAID controller (BIOS/FW Raid). 4. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Actual Results: When you get to the end of the installation, it will ask where to install grub to. The installer will just show “/dev/mapper”. *Do not install to just /dev/mapper or else it will fail. Instead, tell the installer to point to /dev/mapper/isw__Volume0”. * From here, grub should install to the correct location and the system should boot. b. Expected Results: Install the system on the proper boot partition without being prompted by debian-installer. 5. [Bug 1068199] [NEW] please add support for MAP_HUGETLB in eglibc for Lucid
Public bug reported: it looks like eglibc on 10.04 does not have MAP_HUGETLB headers or flags activated [1]. According to hugetlbpage.txt [2] they state that if the application is making use of only (shmget, shmat) calls you don't really need a virtual filesystem. This behaviout *DOES NOT* happen on 10.04 using the released hugepages 10.04 packages but it DOES WORK when using precise packages. Here are some steps to reproduce the issue. 1. Configure hugepages with filesystem support. 2. Test and validate that it works with 10.04 packages. 3. Umount the virtual filesystem sudo umount /mnt/hugetlbfs 4. run: LD_PRELOAD=libhugetlbfs.so HUGETLB_MORECORE=yes ls /boot You will get the following error message: libhugetlbfs: WARNING: Hugepage size 2097152 unavailable abi-2.6.32-43-server grub lost+found System.map-2.6.32-43-server vmlinuz-2.6.32-43-server 5. Download hugepages packages from: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libhugetlbfs/2.11-0ubuntu1/+build/2263743 and install them. 6. Try again. [Bug 1026325] [NEW] [Precise] Unity-greeter using 45% of memory upon boot and it may go up to a 100% on certain conditions
Public bug reported: I notice this behaviour when a precise install has more than 25K users in /etc/passwd. Also all users are listed in the login screen turning impossible to login as the desired user. This is probably an issue if it's using ldap although I cannot confirm it. This kind of setup (25K users in passwd) is sometimes used in universities and other institutions. It's not something I'd recommend but it works on previous versions that not make use of the lightdm display manager. Workaround: disable user listing in lightdm. I'd prefer have this feature disabled by default so it does not cause issues for enterprise users. @Adam Stokes, I've just build dbg packages using the provided patch and it does generate *some* of the debug packages although the file automount.so is not generated, which in my case is the target one that I am trying to get dbg messages from. In anyway thanks for the patch. Would you be able to take a look at why automount.so is not being generated?
