more or less as it was before: hdmi detected but not listed.

Not exactly, but I just downloaded some packages from
kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and I found out that this behavior
started with linux 3.6.0.
When I downgrade to linux 3.5.7 I can choose HDMI without problems.

This bug is not limited to vlc, in fact I'm experiencing the same issue
running minitube. In this case installing libgnome2-common is not a
solution because, although the theme becomes Gtk, all icons keep

I'm sorry, this bug seems to be much more random than I thought. While using
the stock version for weeks kswapd0 gets in a loop pretty often, I'm testing

When the system runs with low available memory, kswapd0 starts running
consuming 100% of one cpu and persisting in this state until I close some

This bug seems to be strictly related to #1005677, the workaround

Opening vlc settings under Unity or Gnome Shell gives me the same result, and
the whole system becomes unresponsive.
On the other hand, under gnome classic that window still can't open, but the
system keeps running and this is what I can see as output from a terminal:
(vlc:2267): Gtk-CRITICAL
Sadly I can confirm this issue is not solved

Enabling vsync in my netbook (nvidia Ion platform) causes a major increase in

I had the very same issue, and I managed to solve it by switching to

It's quite annoying because compiz still interferes with some programs,

Though I understand the reasons to disable hibernation by default, I strongly
disagree with this decision.
This feature is simply too important to disable it with no option to easily
restore it.
When I first tried the beta of 12.04 and couldn't find hibernation where it is
supposed to be, I
This bug isn't just about jockey-gtk. Crashing while doing such an important
operation as installing a driver breaks the entire system, for example in my
case once crashed trying to install the post-release updates I can't switch

Now it works, thank you!
Just a consideration: required = ignore completely fixes the problem for this
system (it's a Nvidia ION netbook).
On the contrary, on another computer ( AMD graphics desktop, open source
drivers) this is the situation:
- default : hdmi not detected and not working.
I understand the intentions, but I'm fairly sure that is not my case because I
tried HDMI output using XBMC's own sound manager and it worked perfectly.
As requested this is the output of pacmd ls.
