When changing background image in Ubuntu 14.04 (or any earlier version)
AND option Add Show Desktop Icon on Launcher is previously enabled in
Appareance Settings - Show dekstop icon will change its position
(order) in launcher (toolbar). So if it was second icon in

INSTANCE of LibreOffice application opened, the second one will cause
this menu problem. In my case, it always happens because LO
QuickLauncher runs in the background.

appears, which is annoying. Sometimes you are in a hurry and just want
to, for example, print something as fast as possible.

I guess Unity 7.0.1. will have this fix, but I was no able to find exact
date when Unity 7.0.1. will be released...

I don't have problems any more. Ubuntu updated Libre Office to 4.0.3.3
again (even though it already was 4.0.3.3.) and now no delays to
submenus. Update was provided today.
I don't understand what happened, but the problem is solved...
