[Bug 1159731] [NEW] FFe: lighttpd 1.4.31-3ubuntu2

2013-03-25 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
Public bug reported:

The new Ubuntu version is just an import of the last version in Debian
(lighttpd 1.4.31-4). It fixes a security issue (see CVE 2013-1427).

Changelog entry since currently raring version 1.4.31-3ubuntu1:

lighttpd (1.4.31-3ubuntu2) raring; urgency=low

  * Import change from debian version 1.4.31-4:
- CVE-2013-1427: Switch the socket path for PHP when using FASTCGI. /tmp
is world-writable which may cause security implications if an attacker
manages to control /tmp/php.socket before the web server (re-)starts.

 -- Lorenzo De Liso bla...@ubuntu.com Mon, 25 Mar 2013 11:55:53 +0100

It builds and installs on raring, a build log is attached.

This has been fixed in the yesterday python2.7 upload so it doesn't
FTBFS anymore and for this reason the patch is unnecessary. Thanks for

[Bug 777062] [NEW] [MIR] rtmpdump

2011-05-04 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rtmpdump

Availability: the package is already available in universe and is build for the
architectures it is designed to work on.
Rationale: The package is a new build dependency of the latest curl package
uploaded.
Security: There weren't any known security issues for the package in the past
and there are not known security issues for the package.
Quality Assurance: The package is well maintained in Debian.
Dependencies: All the build dependencies are in main.
Standards compliance: The package doesn't appear to have major violations to
the FHS and Debian Policy standards.
Maintenance: The package is a simple one.
Background information: The package builds three binary packages:

- rtmpdump: A small dumper for media content streamed over the RTMP protocol.
- librtmp0: A package containing the shared libraries and the header files
needed to run programs using librtmp.
- librtmp-dev: Like librtmp0, but contains the development libraries.

[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop

2011-04-20 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
Sebastien, the problem isn't unity. I get the freeze even with the
Ubuntu classic session. To get a working session, I either need to
choose the session without any graphic effect or use the nouveau driver.
That's what made me think it's a problem in compiz.

Didier, like I said above, I get the freeze with the Ubuntu classic

it?

[Bug 728745] Re: [nvidia, 7300, 7400] display freeze when using unity desktop

2011-04-19 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
I'm having a similar problem: Unity doesn't run completely and the
session freezes. I don't think this is related to unity, it happens in
the Ubuntu classic desktop session as well. It also happens in the
session without any effect if I run compiz. With the nouveau driver all
works good. My video card is a nvidia 7500 LE.

[Bug 761718] [NEW] Can't start Ubuntu default session properly

2011-04-15 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
Public bug reported:

Installing the nvidia-current package doesn't allow to start the Ubuntu
default session properly. The gnome main bar crashes after some seconds
and even unity doesn't start completely freezing all the session. This
forces to restart gdm. I'm not completely sure this is related to the
nvidia-graphics-drivers source package. With the nouveau open source
nvidia drivers all works properly.

[Bug 761718] Re: Can't start Ubuntu default session properly

2011-04-15 Thread Lorenzo De Liso
Yes, I'm referring to the gnome desktop. To be precise, all the session
freezes and gdm has to be restarted. I can't run the classic Ubuntu
desktop (with effects). I can run the one without any effect but if I
run compiz in that session, that session freezes as well.

Is the lplib support really needed? If we only need to know the
development release we don't need it. Additionally, the user may be
prompted for the launchpad ID.
