Upgrade to 12.04LTS resulted in black

Current release of 10.10 as of 19 July 2010.
In the About Ubuntu program, the toolbar shows broken fonts. I have
not yet found any other applications that also show this bug. Instead of
file, edit, view, etc etc.., the toolbar shows a small box with a
6 digit alpha numeric
