I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn and have been encountering random
freezes since the day I installed it. The only way to recover from

I'm encountering the same exact symptoms, where my system will freeze
sometimes a few times an hour and sometimes only once every few days.

So far I've tried:
- adding noapic to my boot options (which made the freezes occur less
frequently)
- disabled /etc/init.d/powernowd (not sure if this did anything)
- disabled beryl + xgl and used
