Hi, I don't know if this can help since I'm on a different distribution,
but I had a similar problem which was caused by a too high default
webcam resolution under cheese. Lowering the webcam resolution settings
in cheese and restarting the application solved the problem.

In 8.04 the locale definition of uk_UA is wrong.
The first day of the week is set to 2, but earlier week is described as
starting from Monday, this results in the week staring from Tuesday.
