[Bug 957978] Re: Compiz Scale plugin freeze when Key Bindings Toggle Scale Mode is unchecked

2012-11-21 Thread Marcio Merlone
The check Key Bindings Toggle Scale Mode makes no difference to me,
neither I need to press arrows. I have only bound the initiate on top
left/right corner and this is enough to trigger the bug. It starts the
animation, freezes for some seconds in the middle, and then completes.
Gets worse over time.

[Bug 1000367] Re: Incorrect workspace after moving a window by ctrl+shift+alt+arrow in a multimonitor setup

2012-10-25 Thread Marcio Merlone
Daniel,

I am kind a busy those days, not sure when will be able to test the live
session.

But something really bizarre just happened: I was working on Eclipse
(the latest), I had the editor window split horizontally in two with a
bunch of open files on each. When I tried to drag one editor from bottom
to the top split, nothing happened on Eclipse, but a recent maximized
terminal window from two desktops on the right just popped out in front
of me, unmaximized, bounced a little to some corners, no title bar (it
was thinking still maximized and using global menu), and stopped in the
middle of the two monitors, at the bottom, half outside the viewport.
Then I tried to move it with alt+drag and it flee back to its original
desktop...

Some more info: that terminal window was resized by the grid plugin with
ctrl+alt+kp3 before got maximized by clicking the window control. I am
NOT using Ubuntu's Eclipse, but downloaded from the net instead. I also
disabled click-to-focus, click-to-rise and auto-rise, It smells related.
Not to forget: dual monitor. Sorry if I could not be of much help now.
By now I can send you my compiz info if that helps, just tell me the
proper way.

Sometimes I miss my FreeBSD + WindowMaker desktop from some years
ago wait: it was a decade ago already! Gee, I'm getting too old for
this. ;)

Best regards.

[Bug 1000367] [NEW] Incorrect workspace after moving a window by ctrl+shift+alt+arrow in a multimonitor setup

2012-05-16 Thread Marcio Merlone
Public bug reported:

Moved windows across workspaces using ctrl+alt+shift+arrow get erratic
behavior, moving back alone to another workspace and position (sometimes
the previous position, but not always).

For example: I have a terminal window on the first workspace and
ctrl+alt+shift+arrow to move it to the monitor 2 of the second
workspace. Then I ctrl+alt+arrow to go back to the the first workspace
and there is the terminal window! I get back to the second workspace and
the window is not there anymore (sure, it got to the other workspace by
it self), but there I find a window that came from another workspace by
magic.

In short, I have 5 workspaces, and whenever I move any window accross
workspaces, or just switch workspace, many windows get repositioned on
random workspaces AND positions (random position only when not
maximized).

This affects not just logging, but it seems to affect search capability
from some clients. For instance, my thunderbird addressbook fails
occasionally. Simultaneously on the client error, I get these error
messages on syslog:

slapd[29694]: connection_read(46): no connection!

This is happening not all times with all users on my network (about 100

Hi, I run a corporate network with aprox. 90 users in 3 different sites
and roamaing users. Our only mail client is TB with lightning, using
IMAP mailboxes and SOGo as calendar server. I am interested in any
progress/enhancement in any of those two. I can help testing.

[Bug 578242] Re: Thunderbird Lightning does not work on Lucid

2010-05-11 Thread Marcio Merlone
Never mind. I found out that my homedir is mounted on an NFS volume with
'noexec' flag. Removed that and now it seems to work. Thanks and best
regards.

[Bug 578242] [NEW] Thunderbird Lightning does not work on Lucid

2010-05-10 Thread Marcio Merlone
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - Lucid Lynx
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.9) Gecko/20100423
Lightning/1.0b1 Thunderbird/3.0.4

Downloaded lightning-1.0b1-tb+sm-linux.xpi, installed without any
errors. After restart, I can open calendar, but no grid lines for
events, unable to create new event and invitations have no way to accept
or refuse.

Maybe dup or related to bug #532232

[Bug 578242] Re: Thunderbird Lightning does not work on Lucid

2010-05-10 Thread Marcio Merlone
It works if I use a non-LDAP user, but not with a user from LDAP server.
I use pam_ldap in this box, so it does not regards the build or update,
but is something else from the thunderbird/lightning side.

[Bug 578242] Re: Thunderbird Lightning does not work on Lucid

2010-05-10 Thread Marcio Merlone
As a matter of fact, it seems to be some bug in some other lib regarding
pam/ldap. Dropbox also refuses to run properly with an LDAP user, but works
flawlessly with a local only user, on the same machine with the same ldap
config.
Also, I just tried to run TB+lightning with a local only user and it did work,
so the problem is with LDAP users.
