I was looking at this bug, what about keeping also the icon edge colored while
don't coloring the icon background?
This could give more visibility to the icon that can't be considered completely
dead.

I guess that this is something that is wanted. You have to hit the
left edge to show the panel, otherwise that could be considered as a
fine mouse movement on the left side.
Maybe we could add an higher timeout in the case that we're on the 1px
before showing the panel.

Unity launcher mouse over left edge - has an unexpected behavior
I guess that the correct solution in this case is to always wait for the
defined timeout when a click occurs on the launcher before hiding it.
So, every time a click is done in the launcher the bar should always wait some
time then, if the mouse has not been moved in the middle time, it can

Well, looking more in the deep, this seems more related to libSDL (that
is controlled by python-pygame).
Since one of the few things _WM atom parameters that libSDL sets is the
WM_CLASS, you can easily associate your application to a desktop file by
setting the environment variable (also inside

However this feature would be needed by projects like BAMF, also if in the

atom value for _NET_WM_PID, so for libwnck it's impossible to find the
PID related to the opened window, and so the launched command that would
make BAMF associate the application with the proper .desktop file.

Mh, is this really related to BAMF? If it's visible dash, then BAMF
references it (and uses it for matching). Adding it to the launcher is
something related to unity.

Bamf doesn't recognize just installed applications

seems to be fixed in recent kernel releases. I think that the patches
fixing it should be backported!
I can't reproduce this bug on 2.6.39-git19 and 3.0-rc3.

The --app parameter is now correctly related to the WM_CLASS, the issue
is in BAMF that doesn't discern for different applications. My old fix
was merged, but it was not considering some cases which lead BMAF to a
crash (so it was reverted).

I was looking to this, but I can't find a test app to try (I've seen
that the tooltip example uses a BaseWindow, hacking it to make it use an
input window doesn't change anything) .
